I really progressed in wave sailing with my Naish Floater. It was a switch from glass, and a big increase in volume from my other wave boards. Other than that: After about 8 years out of the sport I bought a bic techno 273 which got me back into windsurfing and sails well on the reserviors in Ca. Oh and for a high wind board I had this Starboard Surf 78- wood with red floral prints on the sides. That was my favorite wave/gorge board so far! |

In case demand is any indication of "best", one Gorge guy recently rejected a serious offer of $1,000 for his off-the-shelf mid-90s Gorge Animal Bonzer. While I might sell one or two for less, I would not sell my last couple for twice that ... each.

Shoot, wish I had known that about the Gorge Animals- after hanging in the rafters for a while I gave my 8'6" (hot pink and teal) Bonzer to a guy for his high-wind board for Washoe Lake.
That was a fun board too! Lots of great days on it. I remember one day visiting the gorge, Rowena I think, and the main fin came out when I whacked it on a rock, broke the tab, and then the rest kind of swung down and then broke... Anyway, sailed the board back across the river no problem on the Bonzers alone. |

Did anyone mention the Tiga 260? A great board to learn how to jibe on. The heavier feel sucked up chop like a vacum cleaner. |

E-Rock, Tiga 254 and Bic Veloce 288 are at the top of my old favorite list. |

By far the best boards of all time were Shulers. Lanny Shuler made the best boards...if you could get one. |

OK, Top 3 all time favorite "production" boards
Bailey 8'10" circa 1992 Most comfortable board i've ever ridden
Mistral Ecstasy Auto Jibing Wave Board
Logosz Squish Most Versatile Wave Board I've ever ridden
Mostly I've ridden custom boards, and especially the last few years,
that probably accounts for the lack of newer production models.

Totally concur on both counts.
If those Baileys -- every size was a marvel -- had a modern mast track location, I'd still own some of them. I never did like his nextgen non-nose lineup.
I won a new, still-factory-wrapped, red, next-year's, Ecstasy in '92 or '93. The SOB refused to give it to me despite our written contract.
