A very common accident even with commercial tugs and barges. If the tow is < 200 m in length, the towing vessel only has to display a "black diamond shape" in the mast. I imagine the towing vessel in this situation wasn't even displaying that, so technically they are partially at fault.
There are numerous examples of yachts crossing a commercial tow and being capsized, sawn in half or just sunk. |
