Trump's media conspiracy destroyed: Biden covered more negatively

Quote:
President Biden’s media coverage is worse than Trump’s, according to the Washington Post's Dana Milbank. This comes as President Biden is ending the first year of his presidency with several major policy wins. MSNBC’s Ari Melber explains how the tone of coverage influences voters and American democracy.

and why isn't this front page of all media, surely liberals would put it there...

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/georgia-officials-find-pro-gop-ballot-was-cast-dead-voter-n1286647

Georgia officials find a pro-GOP ballot was cast by a dead voter

Quote:
According to Donald Trump, 5,000 dead people voted in Georgia's 2020 presidential election. The actual number was four.

Quote:
According to Donald Trump, 5,000 dead people voted in Georgia's 2020 presidential election. As is too often the case, the former president simply made up the tally and pretended it was true.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported this morning that the actual number was much smaller.

False claims that there were thousands of ballots cast in the names of dead Georgia voters can now rest in peace. Election investigators found just four absentee ballots in the 2020 presidential election from voters who had died, all of them returned by relatives.

To be sure, there were many related allegations, but the State Election Board could only find four cases, and each were referred to the state attorney general's office.

As the Journal-Constitution's report added, "It's the latest in a series of unsubstantiated claims of fraud that have since been debunked, including allegations of counterfeit ballots, ballot stuffing and forged absentee ballot signatures. Three vote counts showed that Trump lost by about 12,000 votes in Georgia."

And while it's not clear which party's candidates benefited from three of these four ballots, the Journal-Constitution pointed to Sharon Nelson, a 74-year-old widow who submitted an absentee ballot on behalf of her husband, who died in September 2020, just a couple of months before the election.

Her lawyer conceded that she carried out her late husband's wishes, and voted Republican, though Nelson "now realizes that was not the thing to do."

Revisiting our earlier coverage, I'm struck by the familiarity of the circumstances. It was, after all, just last month when Donald Kirk Hartle illegally cast a Republican ballot for his late wife, lied about it, and got caught. He also received a fairly light sentence.

He was hardly alone. We learned in May about Pennsylvania's Bruce Bartman, who cast an absentee ballot in support of Trump for his mother — who died in 2008. Bartman pleaded guilty to unlawful voting, conceded he "listened to too much propaganda," and was sentenced to five years' probation.

About a month later, Edward Snodgrass, a local Republican official in Ohio, admitted to forging his dead father's signature on an absentee ballot and then voting again as himself. NBC News noted at the time that Snodgrass struck a deal with prosecutors and was sentenced to three days in jail and a $500 fine.

any media playing her statement front page... If I owned the media it would be front page... I know right wingers think Hillaries emails and Pizzagate was more deserving of front pages.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/partner-of-fallen-capitol-police-officer-says-trump-needs-to-be-in-prison-for-jan-6/ar-AASqxEa

Partner of fallen Capitol Police officer says Trump 'needs to be in prison' for Jan. 6

Quote:
The longtime partner of late Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick says former President Trump "needs to be in prison" for his contribution to the events that took place on Jan. 6.

Asked by "PBS NewsHour's" Judy Woodruff ahead of the anniversary of last January's riot how Trump should be held accountable, Sandra Garza said he should face incarceration, but noted the unlikelihood of that occurring.

"Personally, for me, I think he needs to be in prison. That is what I think," Garza said.

"But Donald Trump has been playing these legal wrangling games for decades. He knows how to skirt the system. He knows how to - he's a very litigious person himself. And then, when he's been sued, he knows how to play these games to get around things and avoid jail and prison time," she added.

Garza added that it nevertheless would be "satisfying" to see Trump behind bars.

The U.S. is days away from recognizing the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, where Sicknick was working. He died one day later.

Garza told Woodruff that she holds Trump "100 percent responsible" for what occurred on Jan. 6. She also placed blame on "all of the people that have enabled him, enabled him that day, and continue to enable him now."

She said she does not regret voting for Trump, but called the former president's actions a year ago "unforgivable."

Garza also said that Trump has never contacted her regarding Sicknick's death.

Garza has been a vocal critic of Trump and the Republican Party in the months since. In June, she said the GOP did not want to support a 9/11-style commission to investigate the events of Jan. 6 in an effort to protect Trump.

"They don't want a full commission because they know it would expose Donald Trump for inciting a riot that day," she added.

In an op-ed published in CNN that month, Garza accused Republican members of Congress of denying the "monstrous acts committed by violent protestors" on Jan. 6.

surely the liberal media would put this front page that the largest tech corps in the world are in essence colluding to stop unions.... So no liberal media or liberal corporations. In fact they hate what democrats stand for.

This reminds me of the side deal apples Jobs did with other corporations like Microsoft making sure Engineers would not make as much money as the market would allow, they colluded in not poaching others engineers to keep wages lower. again all behind closed doors.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/google-exec-reportedly-said-tech-171710932.html

A Google exec reportedly said the tech giant's secret antiunion project was supposed to convince employees 'that unions suck'

Quote:
A Google executive reportedly said the firm's "Project Vivian" was to convince employees "that unions suck."

The news surfaced as part of an NLRB court ruling.

The case kicked off after four Google employees were fired in 2019 after organizing.

New details have surfaced about Google's secret anti union campaign, dubbed Project Vivian.

The tech giant ran the project between late 2018 and early 2020 to convince employees not to unionize, per a new report from Vice, which viewed court documents not yet available to the public.

Google's director of employment law, Michael Pfyl, in the documents called the initiative an opportunity "to engage employees more positively and convince them that unions suck," Vice reported.

Another Google attorney also reportedly wrote that the company should select a "respected voice to publish an OpEd outlining what a unionized tech workplace would look like, and counseling employees of FB (Facebook), MSFT(Microsoft), Amazon, and google (sic) not to do it."

And Google's HR director, Kara Silverstein, said she supported the idea but said it would be best if "there would be no fingerprints" and wouldn't be "Google specific," per the report.

A Google spokesperson told Insider: "The underlying case here has nothing to do with unionization, it's about employees breaching clear security protocols to access confidential information and systems inappropriately."

Four Google employees, who were fired in 2019, filed a complaint with the NLRB alleging they were illegally terminated for organizing. In response, the company claimed the group — which came to be known as the "Thanksgiving Four" — was fired for violating security rules by sharing confidential information, which the former employees deny.

Google employees then discovered in 2019 that the company had hired a company called IRI Consultants that is known for helping employers squash organizing efforts. That decision wasn't made by Google's lawyers but by higher-ups like Silverstein and Danielle Brown, the company's vice president of employee engagement, Vice reported, citing court documents.

The series of court documents surfaced as part of a ruling last week involving the National Labor Relations Board and comes after an NLRB judge directed Google to hand over 180 pieces of internal material involving the project late last year. The tech giant, however, has since refused, citing attorney-client privilege, per Vice.

An NLRB judge, however, said that doesn't apply to some of the documents.

"Many of these documents are, or involve the development of, campaign materials in which IRI provides antiunion messaging and message amplification strategies and training tailored to [Google's] workforce and the news and social media environment," NLRB judge Paul Boas wrote in 2019.

Google pushed back on that argument at the time, telling Insider that the firm disagrees with the "characterization of the legally privileged materials referred to by the complainants."

Joe Rogan Shares Incorrect Coronavirus Story Just 24 Hours After Apology

Quote:
About 24 hours after apologizing and promising to “have all the pertinent facts at hand” when discussing the coronavirus pandemic, Spotify podcaster Joe Rogan tweeted and then deleted an incorrect story about the drug ivermectin.

The medication has become a cause in right-wing media circles and Rogan ― one of its biggest backers ― tweeted: “Well lookie here” along with a story claiming the drug was effective against omicron in a phase III clinical trial.

That turned out to be incorrect and the story was updated.

Although Rogan deleted his tweet, he did not issue any kind of correction or followup statement. However, his tweet was preserved online by several people, including CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale:
