Now the safest state in the union

More guns. Less crime. Someone please explain this to libs.

"When Maine passed a “Constitutional Carry” law allowing Maine residents to carry a concealed firearm without any special permit in 2015, opponents of the law forecast a dangerous future for the state. They said the new law would hurt public safety and put Maine kids at risk.

One state representative who opposed the bill went so far as to say it would give Mainers a reason to be afraid every time they went out in public or to work."

OMG what a horrible lying article.... what a pathetic media that state has and Moscow Malibu the idiot without a brain went for the lies it made as a presumption. Took this blogger 10 seconds to know what their propaganda was a inherent lie.

That that writer should be fired and never hired for anything as he is as worthless as Moscow Malibu barfie. Both puke out a stench whenever they think they have a fact.

the law was passed in 2015 but before that it was also a very safe state, why because if you look at the safest they have such low population you have to drive what 1-5 miles to even visit a neighbor. and to add to it as a norm the farther north states are so cold that half the year you can not even start your car to go visit a neighbor. right wingers are so stupid.

The 15 safest states to live in, based on 2010 crime rankings

Quote:
The results of CQ Press's annual State Crime Rankings are in and, for some states, the results are reassuring. For nearly two decades, these rankings have shown how the 50 states compare against the national average for six crimes: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft.

According to CQ Press, these six categories are compared to the national reported crime rates and then indexed (with each of the crimes carrying equal weight) to create a summary score and ranking across six areas of reported violent and property crime. It is also important to note that larceny-theft, which accounts for 59% of all reported crimes in America, is not included as part of this report because the FBI and other criminologists concluded in 2004 this was no longer a true indicator of crime.

In this year's ranking, New Hampshire came out on top for the third time in a row. The Granite State reported only 13 murders out of a population of 1.3 million. In addition, the state had the second lowest rate for aggravated assault. The states that saw the biggest improvements over the past year include Michigan and Alaska. Each rose seven spots, but still remain in the bottom half of the ranking (number 34 and 37, respectively).

A more recent listing:

Quote:

These Are The 10 Safest States In America For 2019.

We looked at the FBI data to determine which states are the safest in America, and where you want to live to be in harm’s way less.
They are the places where people sleep safer at night, where shootings and beatings don’t dominate the local news. The best states in America to raise kids, and awesome places to retire.

Because if crime is really low, everyone wants to be there (crummy weather aside).

The states below all share those qualities. There might be some surprises on this list, but when you look at the unbiased data, it’s hard to argue against. We had more than 10 million people read our worst cities in a state series, which was featured in hundreds of media outlets, including an NPR feature.
So we know what we’re talking about.

After analyzing every state in America, here is our list of the safest states to live in the United States:

New Hampshire (Photos)
Vermont (Photos)
Maine (Photos)
Idaho (Photos)
New Jersey (Photos)
Virginia (Photos)
Connecticut (Photos)
Rhode Island (Photos)
Wyoming (Photos)
Kentucky (Photos)

You might be surprised to see some of the states on this list. We understand there’s a lot of good in every place. However, according to data (which doesn’t measure things like beauty, ‘friendly people’ and community involvement), there aren’t safer options in America for making a place home.
The most dangerous state to live in America? New Mexico. More on that later.

Fox News did a piece on Democrats infringing upon the 2nd Amendment!

Say what?

If I get the argument correctly, we need anything that will allow us to be a "Well armed militia".

I guess that includes AR15s...oh and RPGs...oh and ICBMs...and oh Nukes.

Where does it end?

Really if you like hunting, I'm all for it. Target practice as a skill, go for it.

Can't really see the need for assault weapons in the hands of everyday citizens.
Unless you feel the need to overthrow anyone who disagrees with your "rights".

I guess that's what Fox is arguing for.

SAD really.
