Hand that man a spade. And a history book that recounts Winston's disastrous judgement during the Crimean War. Never look back except with rose-colored glasses. |

Boggsy, Perhaps your refusal to grow up explains your fondness for politicians with zero integrity. Don't fret. It's called a mid life crisis. There are few sights more pathetic than old men desperately clinging to lost youth. Maui is well represented in that regard. |

I know it's a ridiculous stretch to describe a ragtag bunch of Californians and a cute little high schooler in a Captain America outfit, all nodding in agreement, as "overwhelming might", but you get my point. If good old Winnie was still with us, he would also probably say...
"Never, never, never use words like "brah" when you are older than 17." He would be right. |
You think I'm cute! I knew your superiority bit was just your way of flirting. Want to send me a private message so we can plan a rendezvous? |

Apropos of citing Churchill in foreign policy--and then ducking the obvious rejoinder, here is how silly that is:
Quote: | The Gallipoli Campaign (Battle of Gallipoli) was one of the Allies great disasters in World War One. It was carried out between 25th April 1915 and 9th January 1916 on the Gallipoli peninsula in the Ottoman Empire. The doomed campaign was thought up by Winston Churchill to end the war early by creating a new war front that the Ottomans could not cope with.
On November 25th 1914, Winston Churchill suggested his plan for a new war front in the Dardanelles to the British government’s War Council. On January 15th 1915, the War Council gave its agreement and British troops in Egypt were put on alert. The Central Powers were fighting primarily on two fronts – the Western and Eastern Fronts. Fighting against such he armies as the Russian and French armies put a great deal of strain on the German military. The input of the smaller Austrian army into the major battles had been small when compared to the German army’s input.
Churchill’s idea was simple. Creating another front would force the Germans to split their army still further as they would need to support the badly rated Turkish army. When the Germans went to assist the Turks, that would leave their lines weakened in the west or east and lead to greater mobility there as the Allies would have a weakened army to fight against.
The Turks had joined the Central Powers in November 1914 and they were seen by Churchill as being the weak underbelly of those who fought against the Allies. | http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/gallipoli.htm
One would think Anglophyles would have learned a bit more history in British Public Schools. One might also think that there are better lessons in history than those now over 70 years old. |

mrgybe, I'd like to hear more about all the high integrity politicians you're behind right now. All the whining about President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid or some other Democrat that you hate just isn't cutting it. NickB called you on it, and now it's time to move on with something a bit more upbeat and positive. |

Perhaps you can remind me of the politicians for whom I have expressed support? |

Every day is a new day, and the campaign is just getting started. This is supposed to be a period where the Republican majority can show they can lead and navigate the time up to November 2016. Rather than doing a lot of whining about the personalities of the liberal left like you're so prone to do, I want to hear more about your conservative high integrity team and their wonderful ideas. |

I guess maybe you just want to be a complainer that whines all the time. |
