while this stems from a personal grudge it can be argued that the right wing hatred makes this guy a hero. and the fact that trump would not do the customary thing of mass shootings indicates he was a hero to trump.

well he is convicted...

Gunman in Capital Gazette Shooting Is Sentenced to 5 Life Terms

https://www.salon.com/2018/06/30/exclusive-accused-annapolis-shooter-had-deep-dark-links-to-the-alt-right/

Exclusive: Accused Annapolis shooter Jarrod Ramos had dark links to the alt-right

Quote:
When the identity of the apparent gunman in the massacre of five journalists in Annapolis, Maryland, was revealed, Jonathan Hutson, a communications consultant and writer who lives nearby, had a shock of recognition. The suspect, Jarrod Ramos, had contacted Hutson in March 2015, taunting him about his role in alerting law enforcement and thwarting a potential mass killer who threatened schoolchildren and Jews in far-away Montana.

That individual in Montana, David Lenio, had overflowed with hyperbolic threats. Hutson’s efforts to stop him succeeded, as I reported at Salon shortly after it happened. Ramos was more cryptic and less overtly demonstrative — but in the end, far deadlier. Both were enigmatic, angry loners, with an unmistakable affinity for the racist alt-right.

“Jarrod Ramos was a lone nut who was not politically motivated, but he was politically influenced by the alt-right,” Hutson told Salon.

Researcher Fred Clarkson agrees. “Ramos and David Lenio seem to have been drawn into the orbit of far-right visions of anti-democratic violence, even as they seem to have ultimately acted on their own,” said Clarkson, a senior research analyst with Political Research Associates, a progressive think tank in Somerville, Massachusetts.

The only two politicians Ramos had tweeted about, according to Hutson, were Donald Trump and Michael Peroutka, a wealthy neo-Confederate funder turned Maryland county councilman. Hutson has written about Peroutka, as have I. Peroutka had major funding ties to former Alabama judge and U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore, as well to the League of the South, whose leader, Michael Hill, had written approvingly about plans to form paramilitary groups to fight a militarized “fourth generation” culture war, one of whose targets would be the media.

“To oversimplify, the primary targets will not be enemy soldiers;” Hill wrote, “instead, they will be political leaders, members of the hostile media, cultural icons, bureaucrats, and other of the managerial elite without whom the engines of tyranny don’t run.”

Ramos first contacted Hutson through Twitter, the latter recalls, after "the Capital Gazette published a piece about how I had alerted the FBI about mass shooting threat suspect David Lenio,” Hutson said.

After Hutson tweeted about the story, Ramos tweeted a couple of disturbing responses, first asking “Were any school children intimidated?” then claiming that Lenio “had won”:

“The piece highlighted the fact that I was also researching and writing about Michael Peroutka, for example, in the pages of Huffington Post,” Hutson noted. “I documented Peroutka’s support for the League of the South, a right-wing group that advocated death squads, assassinating journalists, elected officials, and other members of the elite,” he explained. Hutson challenged Peroutka "about his support for the League of the South, and that led to a lot of public attention,” which he also wrote about for Huffington Post.

Although Ramos didn’t contact Hutson at that time, he was clearly not pleased with the critical coverage of Peroutka, fusing his own lawsuit-fueled enmity toward the Capital Gazette with his enthusiasm for the pro-Confederate candidate:

there is more

Quote:
Several things are worth considering, Hutson suggested. “Ramos tweeted about only two political figures, Trump and Michael Peroutka -- but he also tweeted to me after the Capital Gazette had written about me.”

The content of that story was significant. That was when Hutson wrote about Peroutka's ties to the League of the South, and its support of "death squads to assassinate journalists." These were all pieces of a puzzle Ramos had been playing around with for years, Hutson believes.

“So what happened this past week?” Hutson asked. “On June 25, Trump – at his South Carolina rally – pointed to members of the media, and called them the enemy of the people. This is a phrase that throughout history has been used by autocrats to incite violence,” from ancient Rome to the French Revolution to Nazi Germany.

Quote:
Political
President Donald Trump was briefed on the shooting and offered his thoughts and prayers by tweet.[75] He later declined to lower US flags to half-staff, as is custom for mass shootings, despite requests from Annapolis mayor Gavin Buckley and the lowering of Maryland flags by the Governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan.[76] On July 3, the White House was reported to have permitted the lowering of the US flags on federal buildings for the day, with the President then issuing a proclamation for the flags to be lowered nationwide until sunset on July 3.[77]

Some commentators have called the shooting an attack on the media, and framed it alongside comments by Trump that the "fake news media" (The New York Times, The Washington Post, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC News) are the "enemy of the people".[78][79] A Reuters journalist apologized for his comments blaming Trump. Reuters said it did not condone his behavior.[80] The Sunday after the shooting, the staff of the Capital Gazette wrote: "We won't forget being called an enemy of the people."[81]

Days before, right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos wrote that he "can't wait for vigilante squads to start gunning journalists down on sight" in text messages to reporters. After the shooting, Yiannopoulos said the texts were just a joke.[82][83]

On Reason.com, Elizabeth Nolan Brown criticized the media response to the shooting, pointing out that "[Ramos'] motive doesn't seem related to any of the political agendas offered up in the immediate aftermath by hacks and provocateurs", and that the shooter's anger against the newspaper derived from a personal grudge rather than political motivations.[84] Similarly, the Franklin Daily Journal wrote "the shooting had nothing to do with Trump or his ongoing battle with the press ... the crisis in Maryland allowed people to criticize political opponents who had nothing to do with the actual events."[85]

Governor Hogan tweeted that he was "[a]bsolutely devastated to learn of this tragedy in Annapolis", and asked residents to "heed all warnings and stay away from the area."[7][86] In a press conference, he praised local law enforcement for responding within 60 seconds.[20]

In March and April 2019, the Maryland General Assembly voted unanimously to designate June 28 "Freedom of the Press Day" in honor of the victims.[87][88][89]

bannon a right wing hero

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/law-order-gop-coddles-criminals-002351477.html

'Law And Order' GOP 'Coddles Criminals' Like Steve Bannon, Accuses Scathing Editorial

Quote:
The GOP, which likes to tout itself as the “law and order party,” in reality “coddles criminals” like Donald Trump’s former White House strategist Steve Bannon, accused a searing editorial Saturday in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

A “shameful roster” of Republican House members overwhelmingly voted against holding Bannon in criminal contempt after he brazenly ignored a subpoena to testify as part of the investigation into the Jan. 6 insurrection, the newspaper noted. The Republicans are “once again running interference for a lawless ex-president who tried to overthrow a valid election,” the editorial added.

The House voted Thursday to hold Bannon in criminal contempt after just nine Republicans voted with all the Democrats.

That’s only the latest occasion most congressional Republicans have “sided with criminality,” the newspaper charged.

“Most of them voted against holding Trump accountable for clearly impeachable acts” — twice, the editorial pointed out.

They also “defended or silently tolerated Trump’s outrageous string of self-serving, swampy pardons for criminally charged or convicted supporters like Michael Flynn, Roger Stone and Bannon. They’re currently defending wealthy tax cheats by blocking Democratic efforts to strengthen Internal Revenue Service collection powers,” the paper scolded.

A contempt case against Bannon is “pretty clear-cut,” the editorial declared. “When Congress issues a subpoena, the subject of that subpoena is legally required to provide the information being sought — in this case, testimony about Bannon’s conversations with Trump before the Jan. 6 attack.”

Legal scholars have claimed that Bannon’s excuse for refusing to testify because his one-time employer Donald Trump used to have executive privilege is “pretty much nonsense,” according to the Post-Dispatch.

The editorial asks: “With a law-and-order party like this, who needs crooks?”

this guy is a hero to the right, no repercussions over his IE putting dems in crosshairs like the right wing did with Giffords. And we know the right wing do and are taking actions against dems violently because of trumps hate, as some or the majority of the jan 6th have stated in their plea bargains.

Look the guys own sister knows him better than 99.99999 percent of the right wingers. She says he is a sociopath and his actions show it, so as a minimum he should have to face what Comedian GRIFFIN FACED AND SHOULD BE CHARGED AS she was threatened. But start with no fly list. again we have a sister saying he is a sociopath. (like many if not most top right wing heros are proud to be)

Paul Gosar's Sister Calls Him a 'Sociopath' for Posting Video of Him Killing AOC

The sister of Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) has called him "a sociopath" after he posted a controversial anime video where he is pictured killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Representative Paul Gosar dismissed criticism he faced for posting an anime video that depicted him hitting Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with swords. Speaking to CNN host Alisyn Camerota on Tuesday, Jennifer Gosar said she believed her brother's behavior will escalate.

She said: "It definitely is getting worse because no one holds him accountable. Not [House Minority Leader] Kevin McCarthy, not Senate [Minority] Leader Mitch McConnell, not Senate [Majority] Leader Chuck Schumer, not Speaker Nancy Pelosi, not Attorney General Merrick Garland. No one holds him accountable.

"And this is something that I have to openly wonder, does he have to act on it himself before we believe that he is an absolute, he's a sociopath.

"And what's more we know, from everything we have seen and certainly Attorney General Garland has seen much more of it than I, that there is evidence to show that he was [not intelligible] conspiracy to commit treason against the United States of America.

"Where is the accountability?"

Her comments come days after Rep. Gosar shared a photoshopped anime video where he killed a giant Rep. Ocasio Cortez by cutting the back of her neck with two blades.

The doctored clip used scenes from the opening credits of the popular Japanese anime Attack on Titan, a show where soldiers defend walled cities from man-eating giants who attempt to get at the citizens inside.

Rep. Gosar's video also appeared to use footage of migrants at the southern border and included blood splatter effects over clips that showed a caravan of people walking.

On Monday, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez responded to the controversial tweet with a Twitter post of her own where she called Rep. Gosar "creepy."

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez also said she believed Rep. Gosar would face no consequences for the tweet "bc [because] @GOPLeader [Kevin McCarthy] cheers him on with excuses."

Fellow Democrats rallied behind Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and condemned the tweet, with Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) calling for the Republican to be removed from Congressional committees.

In response to growing criticism over his tweet, 62-year-old Rep. Gosar trolled his critics with a two-sided meme of a "crying Wojack" with the caption: "You're cartoon anime scares me with your jetpack flying and light sabers."

A "Yes Chad" figure then responded, saying: "It's a cartoon. Relax."

The controversial video has since been pulled from Rep. Gosar's Twitter page, although the video can still be found on his Instagram page.

Newsweek has contacted Rep. Gosar and House Minority Leader McCarthy for comment.

Murderers: Right-wing extremists indicted by prosecutors

Quote:

Right-wing “vigilante justice” is under fire in two high-profile murder trials. The opening arguments were heard in the trial of the white men who killed Ahmaud Arbery, a trial where they are facing a nearly all-white jury. The judge condemned the discrimination found by the court, but noted he could not prevent it under current Supreme Court precedent. Meanwhile, teenager Kyle Rittenhouse is on trial for murdering two BLM protesters in Wisconsin, and many have been quick to sympathize with him. In this special report, MSNBC’s Ari Melber discusses this political and racial violence and what this means for America going forward.
