When can we expect the sensor to be repaired at Lake Isabella ? It's March and it's time to start sailing. Lots of water , windy today.

Is there a good place for a sensor on your property?

Weatherflow seems to have the situation well in hand, with the new and improved sensor slated to go on to a different pole in that same Old Isabella parking lot - all should be well shortly!

until iwin is up and running again, you can get some wind info here
http://mesowest.utah.edu/cgi-bin/droman/meso_base_dyn.cgi?stn=ISLC1
Its the Corps' station on the hill overlooking Launch 19, and sits in the lee of a building and some tall trees, so gets confused, particularly when the wind is blowing South. As well, it only gives the peaks, and those delayed by up to 1 1/4 hr.
But its better than nothing!

Thanks Eva.
Can you give us an update on the water level? About how far is it from the Old Isabella parking lot to the water's edge? Some pics would be awesome.

o Gary - I hope this does not backfire! we have a very tenuous peace at the moment, with us having given a little, and the marina having moved a little, (and Forest Service having given a lot regarding the new sensor). They are totally in the right as far as permits, even as far as the marina location - if you recall, it started out exactly where it is now. Your belligerent approach may just cause them to shed the generally benevolent attitude I had worked so hard for

here is an iffy link to the station at top of the canyon; very good indicator [with training] as to what is in store for the lake (which is about 12 miles downwind)

this was taken Feb 26 from Engineer's Point, looking at the Old Isabella parking lot, with Red's Marina now just below it, and the Ghetto launch the point to the left.
Since it peaked on Feb 22 2 feet above when this pic was taken, the lake has been lowered approx 6 feet, to make room for the huge snow melt we will get once it warms. So today, its about 4 vertical feet below this; and when snow melt sets in, they will let it rise to 60% full, which is 4 feet above this.
Notice the boats which started out immediately in front of the Ghetto point, but then were moved up when I spoke with the marina owner. Its not ideal, for sure, but better than what we started out with.
The marina owner stated that he will move back to where he was these past 2 years (in the sheltered East end of the Old Isabella area), just as soon as the lake has dropped enough to make his old access road drivable again
