gee to me Flynn was committing treason. They were not in charge of didly when he was making deals with the russians. He should be in jail for the rest of his life. Plus what a dumb f he is (ie right winger) to not know we listen into the top russians phone calls. Can there be anyone dumber than him, oh ya he spread lies like pizzagate. Ya a dumb F. Has no honor. again should be court martialed if a retired one can be.

and finally what an excellent idea let us americans judge what he said on the phone calls as asked by the Dem.

Michael Flynn’s name was never masked in FBI document on his communications with Russian ambassador

Quote:
Grenell’s move amounts to “selective declassification” for political purposes, said Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Va.) in a letter to the DNI on Wednesday. He asked that “in order to more fully and properly inform the American people,” Grenell declassify and make publicly available “any intelligence report concerning conversations” between Flynn and Kislyak.

In that Dec. 29 call with Kislyak, Flynn discussed a set of sanctions ordered earlier that day by the Obama administration in response to Moscow’s interference in the 2016 presidential election. Flynn urged that the Kremlin refrain from retaliating, suggesting the new administration would be more accommodating.

In mid-January 2017, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius revealed that Flynn called Kislyak several times on Dec. 29 and raised the question of whether sanctions came up. A few days later, Vice President Pence on national television said the timing of the call was “strictly coincidental” and that Flynn had assured him the two had not discussed sanctions. Later that month, in an interview with the FBI, Flynn again insisted he and Kislyak never talked about the Obama administration’s censure of Moscow.

In early February, The Post revealed that Flynn had in fact discussed sanctions with Kislyak, kicking up a furor that led to his resignation. In December 2017, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI; the Justice Department now is seeking to drop the case against him.

The president’s GOP allies, including his probable next DNI, Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Tex.), have long pressed to learn who provided the media with information on Flynn’s calls. “It does appear that there were crimes committed during the Obama administration,” Ratcliffe told Fox News last July. “His phone call with the Russian ambassador was a highly classified NSA intercept,” he said, apparently not realizing it was an FBI intercept. “Someone in the Obama administration leaked that call to The Washington Post. That’s a felony.”

Quote:
The release follows the recent declassification by Richard Grenell, Ratcliffe’s predecessor as intelligence director, of names of intelligence and Obama administration officials who in late 2016 and early 2017 asked the National Security Agency to reveal to them the name of an American whose identity was concealed in classified reports. That American was revealed to be Flynn.

Names of US citizens are routinely redacted in intelligence reports that document surveillance of foreign targets, but US officials can ask to receive the identity if they believe it is vital to understanding the intelligence.

There is nothing unusual about unmasking requests, which have been more prevalent at the beginning of the Trump administration than they were at the end of the Obama administration. But supporters of Trump have suggested that the requests were made for political reasons.

The nature of those NSA reports remains unclear, and they were not among the documents released on Friday.

Declassified Flynn docs do little to help the White House's cause

In his calls with the Russian ambassador, Flynn did the one thing the White House said he did not do: discuss the sanctions policy.

Quote:
Periodically, classified information about the Russia scandal and the investigation into the controversy has come to light. In every instance, more information has led to more disappointment on the right.

In early 2018, for example, the so-called "Nunes Memo" was supposed to be a blockbuster success for Donald Trump and his allies. Instead, it backfired. A few months later, the president was briefly obsessed with "Spygate," right up until Trump administration officials prepared a briefing for lawmakers that discredited the nonsensical claims.

More recently, Republicans had high hopes about an email former White House National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote in January 2017, which ended up proving the opposite of what the GOP wanted to see.

And on Friday, Americans were able to review intercepted calls between former White House National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and former Russian Ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak. At that point, the Republican campaign to rehabilitate the former foreign agent's reputation fell into a ditch.

The detailed call summaries from December 2016, in the weeks before President Donald Trump took office, offer the clearest public evidence to date that Flynn indeed discussed sanctions specifically during their calls, despite Flynn telling both the FBI and Vice President Mike Pence that they did not.

A few weeks ago, Attorney General Bill Barr sat down with CBS News and addressed both the Flynn scandal and the Justice Department's willingness to intervene on his behalf. "[I]t is very typical, very common for the national security team of the incoming president to communicate with foreign leaders," Barr argued. "And that call, there was nothing wrong with it whatever. In fact, it was laudable. And it was nothing inconsistent with the Obama administration's policies."

When the attorney general made the comments, there was an obvious follow-up question: if Barr was right and there was nothing at all wrong with Flynn's communications, why did the retired general feel the need to lie about the calls to the FBI?

The answer, it turns out, is that Barr wasn't right. The Obama administration had imposed sanctions on Russia, among other penalties, as a result of the Putin government attacking U.S. elections. Flynn downplayed the significance of Moscow's election interference -- he told the Russian ambassador he saw the attacks as "cyber stuff" -- and did the one thing the White House said Flynn did not do: discuss the sanctions policy.

"Do not allow this [Obama] administration to box us in right now," Flynn told Kislyak.

So while Barr said Flynn's private comments were not "inconsistent with the Obama administration's policies," the transcript points in the opposite direction.

New York's Jon Chait added, "Flynn's discussions with Kislyak were not part of a criminal conspiracy. They were, however, part of a secret channel of communications, the premise of which was that the two parties had a secret common interest against the United States government. One word that might describe this relationship would be 'collusion.'"

Judges unpersuaded by Michael Flynn's attempt to force a dismissal

Quote:
(CNN)A federal appeals court hearing arguments about President Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn on Friday firmly pushed back on his attempts to force his criminal charge's dismissal immediately, even after the Justice Department backed Flynn.

Two of three judges on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals said Flynn's case wasn't ready to leave the hands of the trial-level judge below them, meaning that Flynn may not get a quick exoneration in court.
The appeals argument was an unusual turn in an even more unusual case that has come to signify the politics of the Justice Department, feed Trump's attacks on the Russia investigation and enliven a battle between the Trump administration and other branches of government. Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in late 2017 as part of the Mueller investigation into Russian interference in the election.

One judge even made an analogy between Flynn's situation and a need to question Department of Justice decision-making in racially sensitive cases about police brutality.
Flynn has a hearing scheduled for July 16 before DC District Judge Emmet Sullivan, the trial judge, about whether his case must be dismissed and whether he should be held in contempt of court for perjury. In the past, Sullivan has expressed disgust with his dishonesty, has questioned the Justice Department's approach to dropping the case, and highlighted Flynn's contradictory sworn statements that he was guilty and that he is innocent.

Michael Flynn Writes Column Confirming He Is Definitely Insane

Quote:
How to judge this op-ed? It is difficult to evaluate without knowing whether Flynn’s objective was to advance a policy agenda or to help his legal team plant an insanity defense. On the plus side, his prose is — well, distinctive. And his argument is difficult to rebut.

On the negative side, his main contention regarding the forces of evil and their alleged goals of stealing freedom is lacking in concrete evidence. The column is easier to understand if you read it in the voice of Colonel Jack D. Ripper, the deranged right-wing general in Dr. Strangelove. If I had edited the column, I would have urged Flynn to periodically address the reader as “Mandrake.”

A few passages give the Ripper-esque flavor of his analysis:

Once again, tyranny and treachery are in our midst, and although we feel we’ve descended into a hellish state of existence, we must never forget, hell is conquerable.

Michael Flynn posts video featuring QAnon slogans

Quote:

Washington (CNN)In a video posted online over the weekend, President Donald Trump's first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, is seen using phrases and slogans that are hallmarks of the baseless QAnon conspiracy movement. He also tagged his post with a QAnon hashtag.

Followers of QAnon believe there is a "deep state" within the US government that is controlled by a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles. According to the conspiracy, the cabal is largely run by Democratic politicians and liberal celebrities -- and Trump is trying to take them down.
Flynn posted the 53-second clip to Twitter on Saturday, which was the July Fourth holiday. In the video, Flynn leads a small group in reciting a generic oath of office, the same oath taken by members of Congress. After finishing the oath, Flynn says, "Where we go one, we go all!" His post included the hashtag #TakeTheOath, which he recently added to his Twitter bio as well.
These elements of Flynn's post -- the oath, paired with the catchphrase and hashtag -- are distinctive to the QAnon movement and are used widely by its followers, experts say. Flynn never explicitly mentions QAnon in the video, and his lawyer claims his phrasing is innocuous.
"This is absolutely pro-QAnon," said Mike Rothschild, who recently published a book examining and debunking some of the most prominent conspiracy theories. "It's the same version of the enlistment oath that Q followers have been filming themselves taking for the last week. And the phrase at the end, 'Where we go one, we go all,' is a key catchphrase in the Q mythology."
There are more than 10,500 replies to Flynn's tweet, many from self-identified QAnon supporters
