Something different.
Those of you biking in winter might already know the company, these are for baby strollers.
Used these last Fall/winter in 4-5C water/air at 30 knots in waves.
Worked well, can slide the hands back and forth on skinny 24mm boom while wave riding (perfect fit).
They zip up so can put on and off book without taking out the back end.
The boom underneath stays warmer than the rest of the boom.
Finding the opening was not difficult (the trick is to slam the whole mitt against the harness line, which pops the opening round.
My bare hands were warmer than my buddies in open mitts and Dakine mitts (actually surprising).

I've used something similar for winter motorcycling but I didn't think it would work on a boom.

Can you post a link?

Google pogies. Add kayak or paddle if ya like. There are many brands and styles ... 163 items on Amazon alone. A bud who sailed the Columbia something like 86 straight months swore by them.

https://isthmussailboards.com/dakine-cold-water-mitt.html

He actually cuts out the palms of them.

I use Sealskinz. My palms are wide so XL is the size I use. For winter sailing on snow or ice my Sealskinz are covered with large ordinary mittens.

The link provided here is from Cabela's though Sealskinz are available from additional stores.
