Pretty Good today the Wind was very Even from
1 pm to 3:30 then got kind of zony and holy.
Rigged a 4.7 and nicely powered on that.
Biggest Sail there today one person had a 3.2 but
the steady wind had passed by then.
Got gusty later on and threatened to to take off
so I rigged a 4.2 I could use it but it was holy by then.
Weed Patch on West Mediros side dampening the chop
in that area.
Probably will go again tomorrow.

If you are going today and using 129 from the bay area might be
good to use San Juan Road instead construction at 101 and 129 means
a wait. Posted 7/14/2020

Was there Monday , Tuesday and Friday last week.
Larry put in a few more days than that.
You could have done an afternoon session today.
Tomorrow through Wednesday looks good. (3km chart)
Southerly flow is good for this spot.
Smoke from Coalinga Fire looks like it might be drifting
North and into the Valley though.
Check Waze for 129 construction before you go through the
end of the month if coming from Santa Cruz.
A few people are trying to foil there can't tell if they are
new to it or having trouble with weeds.
Turnout has increased as Santa Cruzen's try to escape the
Foggy Days on the Coast.

Five Santa Cruzans there today on the North side. Three folk from Fremont. One from Monterey. One from somewhere else, but I do not know where. He had a board rig separation and lost his board but the park rangers boat picked it up luckily before he was going to drive over to the south side to search for it after swimming and walking his rig back to The Tree.
Water was so high near the end that I could float my board up the path to The Tree. 223' when I had checked before leaving Santa Cruz.
Sails ranged from 4.2 to 5.2. I was on a 5.2 but switched after a few runs to a 4.7 and a wave board. Up and down at times. Could scream across to the other side and have to slog most of the way back. But I seemed to be a magnet for the holes as while I was slogging at times others were whipping across.

In the sky to the South. Folk with better noses than I could smell it just a little bit late in the day.

On the 19th of July and 223' water level, the weeds were hardly any problem.

Good Day today Wind was pretty filled in most of the time and
not Gusty. Got there at 12 pm Bill and Cathy came in a few minutes
behind me . I was debating with myself between a 5.3 an 4.7
The 5.3 was the right call . Water Level was High and got real High
by the end of the day . Temp was not to Hot and not to Cold.
Three more Santa Cruzens showed up later along with on Monterey
guy. David sailing off the other side as usual.

On the way back it was turn your wiper's on in Watsonville.
Not suppose to be as Windy tommrow according to the 3km
report though.
But Friday looks good according to some sources.

Hello. I happened to find this thread today.
I am Kazu. I went there from San Jose last Saturday (July 19).
Yes. I could get my board from the ranger.
Thank you so much for your help.
Usually we (wife, son, I) go windsurfing to Coyote, Palo Alto.
I want to go reservoir in southern wind day.
See you sometime.

Hi Kazu,
I am glad the rangers found your board and you got it back so easily. Better than having to search for it and it might have gone to the other side of the larger section of the O'Neill Forebay. That is a long way away and with no easy way to get there.
Stronger winds at the O'Neill Forebay are usually from the direction that we had them last Saturday.
I tighten my universal mastbase three times before I launch. On some of my boards it is not unusual to get a complete additional turn on the base even though the initial tightening was as far as it would go at that time.
See you sometime either at The Lake or one of your other launches.
