When you're planning an insurrection to eliminate democracy in the US, you want to make sure that your foot soldiers can work without intervention.

Three hours and 19 minutes.

That’s how long it took from the first, desperate pleas for help from the Capitol Police to the Trump Pentagon on Jan. 6 until the D.C. National Guard finally received permission to help put down the bloody insurrection.

During those 199 minutes, the mob sacked the Capitol. People died. Overwhelmed Capitol and D.C. police were beaten. Lawmakers’ lives were jeopardized. And violent extremists defiled the seat of government, temporarily halting the certification of Joe Biden’s victory.

“At 1:49 p.m., I received a frantic call from then-chief of United States Capitol Police, Steven Sund, where he informed me that the security perimeter of the United States Capitol had been breached by hostile rioters,” Maj. Gen. William J. Walker, commander of the D.C. Guard, testified Wednesday to a joint Senate committee investigating the attack on the Capitol. “Chief Sund, his voice cracking with emotion, indicated that there was a dire emergency at the Capitol, and he requested the immediate assistance of as many available national guardsmen that I could muster.”

The man ultimately responsible for the delay, Christopher Miller, had been a White House aide before Donald Trump installed him as acting defense secretary in November, as the president began his attempt to overturn his election defeat. Miller did Trump’s political bidding at another point during his 10-week tenure, forcing the National Security Agency to install a Republican political operative as chief counsel.

Amen. Republicans, and the know-it-alls on this forum, ranted about re-opening schools. Did they offer any plans for testing, vaccinations, improving air circulation? Hell no. Did they vote for the bill that included those things, and was supported by 70% of the voters? Hell no. Biden got it done anyway. Moaning and gnashing of teeth from "pundits".

Three days after that tweet, prosecutors say, Meggs took to Facebook with a message.

Navy Contractor Charged In Capitol Riot Said ‘Hitler Should Have Finished The Job’

Quote:
A security contractor at a New Jersey Naval Weapons Station charged in the storming of the Capitol is a white supremacist and anti-Semite who told co-workers that “Hitler should have finished the job,” according to a new court filing against him.

Forty-four co-workers of Army reservist Timothy Hale-Cusanelli were interviewed, and 34 said he held “extremist or radical views pertaining to the Jewish people, minorities and women,” according to the motion filed Friday in federal district court in the District of Columbia.

One co-worker told investigators that Hale-Cusanelli, 36, said at work that Adolf Hitler “should have finished the job,” in reference to the Holocaust. Another said he “constantly” denigrated Jewish people.

He was once reprimanded for mockingly sporting a Hitler mustache at work; he would “make racial jokes and not be quiet about it;” he was considered “unstable,” and some co-workers were “afraid” of him, according to the motion.

Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, who has been charged in Capitol riot, sported a Hitler mustache in a photo submitted by federal prose
FROM FEDERAL COURT MOTION AGAINST TIMOTHY HALE-CUSANELLI
Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, who has been charged in Capitol riot, sported a Hitler mustache in a photo submitted by federal prosecutors in a court motion arguing against his pre-trial release.
Hale-Cusanelli had “secret” security clearance for his work, which gave him access to some sensitive information. He admitted to investigators that he stormed the Capitol to disrupt the certification of electoral votes for President Joe Biden, according to the motion.

The federal government sought to block Hale-Cusanelli’s pretrial release due to his “fantasy of participating in another Civil War,” the court document stated.

Hale-Cusanelli has argued in court that he was merely “following the entreaties of then-commander in chief” Donald Trump.

His comments came to light just as Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) hailed the almost universally white Capitol rioters in a radio interview Friday as people who “love this country” and “truly respect law enforcement” who would “never do anything to break the law.” He said he would have been “concerned,” however, had the rioters been Black Lives Matter protesters. Five people, including a Capitol Police officer, died during the attack.

“Jorge Riley is "honored by the Sacramento Republican Assembly (SRA) for serving 11 years on the executive board including being elected to 6 terms as president!" read the post, published online by California Republican Assembly (CRA) national committeeman Bill Cardoza.
"Local SRA and California Republican Assembly (CRA) leaders gathered to pay tribute to Jorge for both his service on the SRA as well as the CRA board of directors," Cardoza's post said.
Riley, 41, resigned from his post with the California Republican Assembly, the parent organization to the local Sacramento chapter, after his involvement with the Capitol riot became public....
3 FEB: indictment
A federal grand jury indicted Riley on February 3. He faced numerous charges, including disorderly conduct and demonstrating in a Capitol building, the Sacramento Bee reported.
21 APRIL: Riley pleaded not guilty and was released from custody. Prosecutors said he had published dozens of messages and photos demonstrating his involvement in the Capitol riot on social media.
Craig DeLuz, a spokesperson for the California Republican Assembly, told the Sacramento Bee that the parent organization is "concerned" about Riley having been honored in this way.
"As a political organization, we want to set an example for how you engage in political discourse, and Jorge's actions were not how we believe you should be engaging in political discourse," DeLuz said.”

here we go again, a ultra partisan right winger representing Trump in essence says like Fux broadcasters, when they move their lips it is a lie. That everything even on important subjects you have to know when they are just joking. IE do not ever listen to what they are saying, it is a secret code that right wingers have to have the code ring with their secret handshake from the cereal liar breakfast box.

Ex-Trump lawyer Powell asks judge to toss voting machine company's $1.3 billion lawsuit

Quote:
(Reuters) - Sidney Powell, a lawyer who advised President Donald Trump's campaign, asked a judge on Monday to throw out a $1.3 billion lawsuit accusing her of spreading false conspiracy theories about the November presidential election.

Powell said in a filing in federal court in Washington that there was a "no basis" for the lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems Inc in January.

Powell, represented by three lawyers, argued that claims she made about Denver-based Dominion were protected by the right to free speech under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

She said her claims about Dominion were meant to be hyperbolic, and that "reasonable people would not accept such statements as fact but view them only as claims that await testing by the courts through the adversary process."

Powell, appearing with longtime Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, charged without evidence at a November news conference that Dominion’s electronic voting systems had switched millions of ballots to Democrat Joe Biden.

In later media appearances, Powell falsely claimed that Dominion was created in Venezuela to rig elections for that country’s late president, Hugo Chavez, and that Dominion bribed Georgia officials for a no-bid contract.

“Powell’s wild accusations are demonstrably false,” Dominion’s lawyers said in their lawsuit.

Trump referred to Powell as one of his “wonderful lawyers and representatives” in a Nov. 14 tweet.

Giuliani and another Trump legal adviser, Jenna Ellis, later distanced themselves from Powell, saying in a statement released by the campaign that Powell "is not a member of the Trump Legal Team."

Dominion has a similar lawsuit pending against Giuliani, which also seeks $1.3 billion in damages. He has also said his remarks were constitutionally protected speech.

Homeland Security chief fires almost every member of advisory council

Quote:

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas fired most of the members of the Homeland Security Advisory Council on Friday, according to a letter obtained by ABC News.

The Homeland Security Advisory Council is made up of 30 members -- both Democrats and Republicans. Some of those who were fired included allies of former President Donald Trump, such as former acting DHS Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli and former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Thomas Homan.

U.S. Capitol police officers sue former President Donald Trump, accusing him of inciting Capitol riot

Quote:
WASHINGTON - Two Capitol Police officers, repeatedly assaulted during the Capitol siege, have sued former President Donald Trump, accusing him of inciting the riot that left five dead and injured more than 100 officers.

James Blassingame and Sidney Hemby are seeking damages in excess of $75,000, each, accusing the former president of gathering and unleashing a mob that ultimately breached the Capitol after violent clashes with officers.

"Trump’s words and conduct leading up to and on January 6, 2021... demonstrated a willful and wanton disregard for and a reckless indifference to James Blassingame’s and Sidney Hemby’s safety and that of their fellow officers," the officers said.

House impeachment manager Eric Swalwell sues Trumps, Giuliani, Brooks over riot

Quote:
WASHINGTON - Rep. Eric Swalwell, who served as a House manager in Donald Trump's last impeachment, filed a lawsuit Friday against the former president, his son, lawyer and a Republican congressman whose actions he charges led to January's insurrection.

The California Democrat's suit was filed in federal court in Washington. It alleges a conspiracy to violate civil rights, along with negligence, inciting a riot and inflicting emotional distress. It follows a similar suit filed by Rep. Bennie Thompson last month in an attempt to hold the former president accountable in some way for his actions Jan. 6, following his Senate acquittal.

Swalwell charges that Trump, his son Donald Jr., along with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Republican Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama, had made "false and incendiary allegations of fraud and theft, and in direct response to the Defendant's express calls for violence at the rally, a violent mob attacked the U.S. Capitol."

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, his deputy and three members who guarded Roger Stone exchanged nearly 20 phone calls over three hours on Jan. 6, coinciding with the first assault on police barricades protecting the U.S. Capitol and spanning the time the three members breached the building, prosecutors charged Thursday.

In a new indictment adding previously charged Stone guards Joshua James, 33, of Arab, Ala., and Roberto Minuta, 36, of Prosper, Tex., to an Oath Keepers conspiracy case that now has 12 defendants, prosecutors bluntly laid a path to Rhodes and a person they said he put in charge of his group’s operations that day.

Prosecutors identified that individual only as “Person 10.” Rhodes in interviews has said he tapped a former Army explosives expert and Blackwater contractor nicknamed “Whip” as on-the-ground team leader.
