Hey guys!
I just bought Mistral Prodigy with EVA soft deck (yellow and red), because I'm teaching people to windsurf sometimes.
Board little beat up but in generally good condition - no major holes, cracks or repairs. Here is question: board weights 44 lbs (around 20 kg) with white plastic centerboard and four dry foot straps. Isn't it too much? According to web it supposed to weight around 15.5 kg or this is weight of race version and student version weights more? _________________ Andrew

Hey Motogon~!
Yes, that sounds about right. I learned on a Prodigy awhile ago and finally decided to sell it last summer. It was fun to tool around in light winds, but the thing was a beast to get on/off the truck! I tried to weigh mine and think it was somewhere around 40#. I did not have the soft deck version...
It's a fun board and great for teaching. I also plugged in a 51cm fin with an 8.2 GA sail to see how fast I could get it. I'm not the fastest guy on the lake, but I had the barge up to 23.5 kts. It took me a hundred meters to turn it around though
Have fun. Remember, lift with the knees and not the back! Be safe and stay well.
Cheers,
M |
