There are a myriad of different hook designs out. Someone who knows for sure; what is THE hook for windsurfing and what is THE hook for kiteboarding. I have some that are trapezoid shape; with and without the crossbar and some with a round end and some with a square end. And these aren't even all the shapes that are out there.

The trap and square shapes are Kite board hooks, and not good for windsurfing. When I bought my Ride Engine I had it fitted with a windsurf
hook which is round (actually more pointed than round).

I can't imagine WSing without a roller bar, either the Reactor or the Dakine. However, just like everything else in this sport, it's a PERSONAL CHOICE. i.e., there is no no "correct" bar. The distinct pros and cons have been discussed many times. SEARCH for roller bar and select USE ALL TERMS. You might want to choose isobars as author, simply to reduce the number of individual posts on the topic; you won't miss any threads, but you'll get mere scores of hits rather than hundreds.

Kite hooks are just a bit harder to unhook. They tend to be wider and pointing more upward. The opposite of the reactor bar which unhooks very easily. The windsurfing hook is narrower and not as curved, it is one of those designs that work super well and need no changing!

Useless for single-point lines or for new style when lines attached to boom very narrow.

I have a Reactor bar on my T-7. Are the Reactors still in production or are another piece of windsurfing history? Does Dakine still produce a roller bar?

Lots of people tearing it up good on pieces of windsurfing history bro. I was on a job once and a guy was surprised I didn't have some fancy expensive hammer I'd never even heard of. I still don't know how it was supposed to improve the quality of my work.
