I contacted Chinook. Apparently, they produce all their carbon extensions in house. They don't make a 38 but said they could make a custom one for an additional $35. I'm not really looking for a carbon extension though. Plus, that's getting a bit pricey for an extension if going the custom Chinook route. Good to have that option though. They should just product 38's as a third option in their catalog. Too little market maybe, or too much overlap? Perhaps they could consider changing their standard extension from 28 to 32. This isn't the first time I've noticed Chinook 28 extensions to be slightly too short for the job. I'll work with the 48 for now and maybe still cut it down once I give it a test this spring. However, I will keep an eye open for some of the other brand's extensions mentioned.
