Sunday was on fire- a lot of 3.7s. I was on my 4.3 and 82l board. They are still keeping the lake level pretty high, and no weeds yet (still foilable). But there's starting to be some little patches of floating gunk.
Overall super fun day, not much chop with the water level so high, and pretty warm for a day blowing 30+. I left after 7 and there were still folks doing great on their smallest sails. |

Went yesterday (Monday)arrived at noon since it looked like it would
be a repeat of the weekend but .
It looked like 4.2 when I got there but dropped a lot by the time I
was rigged and suited up .
Put up a 5.3 which was OK at times but it was up and down.
Really dropped mid afternoon then started to come up about 5
It was a real even wind around 12 but gusty later on .
two others windsurfing on the North side nobody on the South side. |

5/19/2021 gusty but doable until later. (Wednesday)
4.7 all afternoon gusty but doable .
It went from slightly under powered to it's time
to get off and not get hurt.
It was kind of breathing hard you could get enough
speed from the puffs to make it through the lulls
for the most part. Started getting real gusty at 4 pm and after.
As Pat said floating clumps and tendrils starting to extend
from the bottom . I had a regular wave fin on today though.
Check Waze before you go construction on 129
and on the way back on 101 after 6pm weekdays.

5/29/2021 raging all afternoon. arrived 11:30 am
Started out on a 4.2 but couldn't make through the holes
on that switched to a 4.7 which was mostly about right.
Thought is would be crowded at SL do to the holiday but
it really wasn't ,traffic not to bad.
Also was there Thursday but it was more 5.7 and that only
happened after 3 pm .
5 people on the North side sailed over to the South side to
see if the usual Holiday crowd was there . There were a few.
No weed fins needed so far. |

Sounds like a great setup for light wind freestyle. Every day of sailing is a great day of sailing.

got there around noon put up a 5.7 and was mostly powered to
almost overpowered a couple of times .
Kind of up and down . Lots of traffic on the highways.
Bill and Kathy reported the morning wind was great on 4 ish sails.
Went to the South side as that is where they were camping .
Weeds getting pretty thick near the trees on that side and the water
level was lower than it has been .
Temp was pretty good in the mid 80's
Two sailing from the other side. |

Had to get the house termited so
I spent a couple of days at San Louis
6/7/2021 It was Ok all day kind of Gusty and maybe overpowered
on a 5.7 .
6/8/2021 came up about 2 and I think started to go down at 4:30
Same 5.7 from barely powered to kind of medium powered.
Water level higher than on Saturday.
I asked about the weed spraying the ranger said there new strategy
is to go early and keep it down.
spun out once on 6/7/2021 but you really can't see any surface weeds
at 222.
Water was cold I could have used a 4/3 .
Air temp not the typical 85 plus . |

Got there about Noon went to the Mederos(South Side) side as there where cars
half way to the high way on the North side entrance.
It didn't really kick in till 4 pm .
Two other windsurfers on the same side.
One was sail foiling and didn't seem like he was having
trouble.
Wing Dingers are now there every day on the North Side well
at least every day I have been there.
Weed fins are a must now even with the water level high.
Floating Clumps will cause you to spin out.
Rumour is among the rangers that Quaga Inspection may be lifted
on July 1 st for board sailors and some of the other personnel water craft. |
