well just do it.... He was under investigation for russian issues from day one of his campaigning and he lied and told us there was no contact with any russians. Yet the investigation showed over 200 instances before he was president. Let the house of cards fold upon him. He signed the contract with the highlighted clause below.

Washington Post

Backlash to riot at Capitol hobbles Trump’s business as banks, partners flee the brand

Quote:

At Deutsche Bank, which had bailed Trump out of financial hardships before, his personal banker resigned recently. And his existing loans with Deutsche Bank are on properties that have suffered severely from pandemic-related business closures. The New York Times reported that Deutsche Bank had determined it would not do business with Trump in the future. A Deutsche Bank spokesman declined to comment to The Post.

Also, at one of Trump’s most troubled and debt-saddled properties, he will soon have a new landlord: the Biden administration.

Trump’s D.C. hotel operates in the federally owned Old Post Office building under a contract with the federal government. For several years, therefore, Trump has effectively been his own landlord — and a fairly understanding one.

Since Trump was elected, the General Services Administration, which oversees the lease, has approved his ownership — despite a clause saying the lease could not benefit an elected official — and blocked House Democrats’ inquiries into the hotel. The GSA has said Trump is in compliance because he wasn’t an elected official when he signed the lease.
One of those Democrats, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Peter A. DeFazio (Ore.) said Tuesday that he hoped Biden’s team would release documents to show whether Trump derived improper benefits from the contract while president.

“My Committee’s investigation has not ended — it was stonewalled. I expect our records requests to be honored by the Biden administration,” DeFazio said in a statement to The Post.

Still, Trump’s D.C. hotel struggled: Company documents obtained by The Post said the hotel had been running nearly half-empty, even before the pandemic, The Post has reported. The company sought to sell the operation, then pulled it off the market after the novel coronavirus hit. Trump borrowed about $170 million from Deutsche Bank to renovate the building.

Now some experts think the Biden administration may have grounds simply to revoke the lease, particularly if Trump runs into further legal trouble. One clause in the contract says Trump would be in violation if he is “under investigation by any government authority for alleged criminal activity” — meaning federal or D.C. agencies.

Steven Schooner, an expert on contract law at George Washington University, said that should be enough.

“By law and regulation, our government need only do business with contractors that ‘have a satisfactory record of integrity and business ethics,’ ” Schooner said. Schooner said Biden’s administration should sever the contract.
“At a moment when major private-sector firms, concerned for their reputations, are publicly disassociating the Trump Organization like rats from a sinking ship, this isn’t rocket science,” he said.
A Biden transition spokesman declined to comment.

As of Tuesday night, Eric Trump had not tweeted at all since the day of the Capitol attack. The Trump Organization’s official Twitter account has been silent since Jan. 1, when it wished the world a happy new year.

oh boy the sky seems to be falling for trumps. He does not seem to be winning in court right now. Delay tactics worked for 4 years but now are not possible.

Judge rules Trump campaign's nondisclosure agreement is invalid

Quote:
U.S. District Court Judge Paul Gardephe, a George W. Bush appointee, found that the language of the far-reaching contract was so vague that it was invalid under New York contract law, Politico reports.

"The vagueness and breadth of the provision is such that a Campaign employee would have no way of what may be disclosed, and, accordingly, Campaign employees are not free to speak about anything concerning the Campaign," Gardephe wrote in his decision. "The non-disclosure provision is thus much broader than what the Campaign asserts is necessary to protect its legitimate interests, and, therefore, is not reasonable."

Gardephe also found fault in the non-disparagement clause of the agreement, Politico reports, writing that the contract showed the Trump campaign did not operate "in good faith."

"The evidence before the Court instead demonstrates that the Campaign has repeatedly sought to enforce the non-disclosure and non-disparagement provisions to suppress speech that it finds detrimental to its interests," Gardephe added.

The outlet notes that the Trump campaign had asked Gardephe to edit the provisions in the contract if he found them unenforceable, but the judge declined to do so.

The Hill has reached out to Trump's office for comment on the ruling.

The ruling by Gardephe was issued in a case brought by Jessica Denson, a Hispanic outreach director on Trump's 2016 campaign. Denson is accusing the campaign of sex discrimination, Politico reports.

"I'm overjoyed," Denson told Politico, regarding Gardephe's ruling. "This president ... former president spent all four years aspiring to autocracy while claiming that he was champion of freedom and free speech. ... There's many people out there who have seen cases like mine and were terrified to speak out."

However, a representative for Trump disagreed with the ruling.

"We believe the court reached the wrong decision and President Trump's lawyers are examining all potential appeals," an unnamed aide to Trump told Politico.

Trump fraud case: New York attorney general says ‘mountain’ of evidence justifies summary judgment

Quote:

New York’s attorney general asked a judge for a partial summary judgment against Donald Trump in her $250 million lawsuit accusing the former president of widespread fraud.
Attorney General Letitia James cited what she called a “mountain of undisputed evidence” of false and misleading financial statements over the course of a decade.
James’ request comes two months before the trial is set to begin in the civil suit against the former president; the Trump Organization; and his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, at New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - 2023/07/31:
New York Attorney General Letitia James asked a judge Wednesday for a partial summary judgment against Donald Trump in her $250 million lawsuit accusing the former president of widespread fraud, citing what she called a “mountain of undisputed evidence” of false and misleading financial statements.

In a court filing, James said evidence shows that if Trump’s net worth were correctly calculated, it would be between 17% and 39% lower than what he claimed each year over the course of a decade, “which translates to the enormous sum of $1 billion or more in all but one year.”

The allegedly false statements included years when Trump was in the White House, according to the filing.

James’ filing comes two months before the trial is set to begin in the civil suit against the former president; the Trump Organization; and his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, at New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.

James is suing the Trumps for allegedly defrauding banks, insurance companies and others with the use of false financial statements.

That trial would still take place to address other claims, even if Judge Arthur Engoron grants James’ request for partial summary judgment and finds Trump and the other defendants committed fraud under New York business law.

James, in her motion, says Engoron has to answer just “two simple and straightforward questions” to make that finding.

One question is whether Trump’s annual statements of his financial condition were “false or misleading,” the attorney general wrote.

The other question, she wrote, is whether Trump and his co-defendants repeatedly used the financial statements to conduct business transactions.

“The answer to both questions is a resounding ‘yes’ based on the mountain of undisputed evidence cited” in the documentation submitted by James’ office, the motion said.

“Based on the undisputed evidence, no trial is required for the Court to determine that Defendants presented grossly and materially inflated asset values in the SFCs [financial statements] and then used those SFCs repeatedly in business transactions to defraud banks and insurers,” James wrote.

“Notwithstanding Defendants’ horde of 13 experts, at the end of the day this is a documents case, and the documents leave no shred of doubt that Mr. Trump’s SFCs do not even remotely reflect the ‘estimated current value’ of his assets as they would trade between well-informed market participants,” the motion said.

CNBC has requested comment from a lawyer for Trump.

mentally broke, thinks he was running against Obama, thinks we are going to be in WW2.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trump-turns-putin-validation-yes-rcna105554?

Trump turns to Putin for validation (yes, again)

Quote:
Given the circumstances, it’s tempting to think Donald Trump would at least try to maintain some rhetorical distance from Russia’s Vladimir Putin. After all, the former American president has been dogged by serious allegations for many years about his benefactor in Moscow, including the fact that the Republican sought, received, benefited from, and lied about Russian assistance that helped elevate him to the White House.

And yet, for reasons he hasn’t explained, Trump just can’t seem to help himself.

Last week, for example, the former American president celebrated the fact that Putin was echoing his talking points about the 2024 election and Trump’s multiple criminal indictments. As we discussed soon after, given the atrocities and alleged war crimes Russia is committing in Ukraine, the Republican might’ve even considered a stay-off-my-side posture. But Trump instead thought the smart move would be to highlight Putin’s condemnations of the United States and willingness to endorse his conspiratorial nonsense.

As part of Trump’s “Meet the Press” interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker, Trump went even further down the same road.

Former President Donald Trump said Thursday that he appreciated recent praise from Russian leader Vladimir Putin. In an exclusive interview with NBC “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker, Trump said it meant “what I’m saying is right,” referring to his positions on the war in Ukraine.

In case anyone’s forgotten, in February 2022, as Putin faced international condemnations, the former American president offered rather enthusiastic praise for the Russian leader, touting Putin’s aggressive moves against Ukraine as “genius” and “very savvy.”

In the months that followed, Trump repeatedly claimed he had a secret plan to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine “within 24 hours,” going so far as to boast that it’d be “easy” to end the crisis.

It was against this backdrop that the former president told Welker that he still won’t divulge the details of his secret plan — which almost certainly does not exist in reality — except to say that there are “certain things” he would tell Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Asked if he would push for a deal that allowed Putin to keep Ukrainian territory, Trump replied, “No, no, no, no.” (Trump said largely the opposite in March.)

Why the Republican plan to prevent a government shutdown is doomed
Russia’s authoritarian leader recently said, “We surely hear that Mr. Trump says he will resolve all burning issues within several days, including the Ukrainian crisis. We cannot help but feel happy about it.” Evidently, Trump was delighted by the comments.

“Well, I like that he said that,” he said on “Meet the Press,” adding, “Because that means what I’m saying is right.”

No, actually it doesn’t. Putin’s validation of Trump’s absurd boasts does not mean Trump is “right”; what it means is that he and his Russian ally have linked arms — yet again. To see an endorsement from the Kremlin as evidence of merit is to abandon any sense of propriety.

“If you are on the same side as Putin, you might want to rethink your position,” former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said last week. He wasn’t referring to U.S. policy in Ukraine, but it’s an observation with broad applicability.

'N.Y. state padlock on Trump Tower': Expert says Trump is at 'next-to-last step' from ruin

Quote:
Attorneys for Donald Trump declaredMonday that he is unable to secure the $464 million bond due in his New York fraud case, saying that turning over the entire amount is "a practical impossibility" — and that development could lead to his New York empire becoming property of the state, a legal expert said.

New York Attorney General Letitia James could put a "padlock" on Trump Tower, legal analyst Glenn Kirschner told MSNBC, effectively locking the former president out of his iconic Fifth Avenue building and making it the property of New York.

Kirschner was responding to a question about how the state's Attorney General Letitia James will make sure the damages owed after Trump was found liable for fraud will be paid if he can't find the money.

"It would look like Tish James, figuratively speaking, putting a big New York state padlock on Trump Tower, for example," he said.

"How does she extract the value from it, does she put it on the market? Does the state actually take possession of it and convert it to a state owned property? I think the devil's in the details with respect to how she will actually go about extracting the value to satisfy the half-billion-dollar judgment."

Trump's attorneys claimed they have spent “countless hours negotiating with one of the largest insurance companies in the world,” and have also unsuccessfully asked 30 other companies to back the bond.

“The amount of the judgment, with interest, exceeds $464 million, and very few bonding companies will consider a bond of anything approaching that magnitude,” Trump’s lawyers wrote.

Kirschner added that the news is a sign that Trump's claim of being of in possession of $14 billion in assets was likely a lie.

"He is now being asked to put up a bond to secure basically a half-a-billion-dollar judgment, which would represent about one-twenty eighth of his entire assets as Donald Trump [and his lawyer Alina Habba] say," Kirschner said.

Kirschner went on to say that if Trump's assets are valued at the level he says they are, "I would think insurance companies and sureties would be beating down his door to do business with him."

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Mocks Trump With His Own Theme Song In Brutal Show Open On Bombshell Fraud Bond

Quote:
CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins opened her show with a brutal rundown of former President Donald Trump’s inability to come up with the bombshell fraud bond — even using his The Apprentice opening theme.

Trump and attorney Alina Habba have been trying to delay or reduce payment of the fraud judgment that could cost him in excess of $460 million if appeals are unsuccessful, and on Monday filed a motion claiming they can’t raise the bond for those appeals.

On Monday night’s edition of CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins, Collins opened her show with an excruciating intro that featured Trump claiming to have plenty of cash, and contrasting Trump’s projection of a wealthy image with the reality of not being able to some up with the bond.
The banner said it all — “RICH” TRUMP UNABLE TO MAKE $464M BOND:

KAITLAN COLLINS: Donald Trump is finally acknowledging, tonight, that he does not have the cash that he has long claimed he does. And it comes exactly one week before he needs to fork over at least $464 million, to cover that fraud judgment, against him, here in New York. I say, at least, because there’s also interest, a $115,000 a day, to be precise.

Trump’s lawyers, telling a court today that their client is facing, quote, “Insurmountable difficulties,” that he can’t pay the bond, and he can’t find anyone to underwrite it. He was denied by more than 30 companies that they approached, to help, each one unwilling to accept his real estate holdings as collateral. Instead, they want money.

That means the New York Attorney General, Tish James, could start collecting as soon as next week, as Trump is facing the very real prospect that some of his accounts could be frozen, his property seized, or both.

It’s a precarious situation, for the presumptive Republican nominee for president. And it gets to the very heart of what this whole fraud trial was about, inflating the value of his assets, claiming that they’re worth more than they actually are. Not to mention inflating how much cash he actually has.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DONALD TRUMP: We have a lot of cash. I believe we have substantially in excess of $400 million cash, which is a lot for a developer. Developers usually don’t have cash. They have assets, not cash. We have, I believe 400-plus and going up very substantially every month.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

COLLINS: That quote there at the end, “Going up substantially every month” apparently is not true. A reminder about what his attorney, who argued and then lost this case had to say about this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ALINA HABBA, TRUMP ATTORNEY: This guy is worth a lot of money, billions and billions of billions of dollars.

He happens to have a lot of cash.

Of course, he has money. You know, he’s a billionaire. We know that.

There will be a bond and there will be no issues with that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

COLLINS: Well apparently, there are. That much was clear today, by what his attorneys told a court, here in New York.

These are thorny issues, of course, for the man, who has staked his entire identity, on being wealthy, even appearing in movies like “Home Alone 2,” as a rich New Yorker, not to mention the theme song, for his own TV show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(VIDEO – “THE APPRENTICE” THEME SONG)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

COLLINS: It is no surprise what’s on Trump’s mind, tonight. He often makes that quite clear, on his own website. And he posted just a few moments ago, that a bond this big is, quote, “Practically impossible” for any company to pay, possibly foreshadowing that not only does he not have the money, right now, it also may not be coming by the deadline.

they point out trump has not been specific why the banks will not loan, is it because he is a convicted liar about valuations and they will not believe his penthouse really is 30,000 sq feet, is it he has too much debt, is it he will not take a loan for equity he has, is it he will not divide it between several lenders and so on...

speaking how broke he is... this fits to a broken brain...

look what he said today.. Right wingers got your decoder rings...

https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fsufs.2022.750199/full

Trump on Monday faced two court decisions.

Quote:

In one, a judge reduced the $464 million bond in his fraud case to $175 million and gave him 10 days to come up with the money. In another, a judge ruled that Trump’s criminal trial in the Stormy Daniels hush money case will start April 15.
That led to a rambling appearance by Trump with several gaffes, including an odd moment where the former president insisted that “you can’t have an election in the middle of a political season.”

The former president added: “We just had Super Tuesday, and we had a Tuesday after Tuesday already.”

Trump also vowed to “bring crime back to law and order.”
