Anyone have any first hand experience or suggestions on a harness camera mount. I am looking to get a 360 camera and want to attach to harness / with pole extension so I can get some great video of me windsurfing.

I saw online the K4 harness mounts but wanted to see if there were other brands as well or if someone has the K4 ( feedback). I tried getting info from K4 but its been a week with zero response, so I thought maybe you all would have suggestions.

I am looking to attach either the insta 360 one x2 or the go pro Max.

let me know asap
Thanks

I've had the pleasure of editing some video shot by one of my tribe with
a carbon fiber pole mounted to a waist harness (she did all of the
engineering herself). It gives some very cool video, but ...
the pole has a fair amount of sway no matter what you do.
It looked a lot like this. If you need steady, I'd recommend more
of a backpack harness like frame. Something that has a t least 3 points of
stabilization. I've built that type of thing for 3rd person shooter vision
(like what you see in The Martian) out of PVC and used it windsurfing.
It's not too bad (cost me about $20)

The k4 mount is killer. I went with the removable version. I use a gopro max on 360 and went with the regular length pole, which someone else online recommended. Works great.

My buddy bought a backpack pole mount somewhere online, not sure how it's working out for him.

when you say the removable option are you talking about the k4 harness mount support plate? I was thinking of this to avoid drilling holes into harness, your thoughts?
Also I am assuming you picked the (clip) camera attachment for your gopro, let me know?
Thanks

Yeah the removable plate with straps is what I use. I just take it off when I am not filming. I did break my pole by landing back first on the boom and the security string worked great.

I just cut off the broken bit and reattached it. Still works fine.

Sorry only viewer experience here. It does seem super wobbly when watching harness mount footage. I prefer a mix of mast & boom mounts + clew view.

Mast and boom mounts can be problematic when being washed.

I opted for a custom clew mount for ease of use, consistent end result and not being in the way except when laying the sail down or hollow and shallow shorebreak!

those harness mounts get great shots. I've used the backymount (no longer made) and I like the low POV better than the K4 (higher POV). would great if there were a way to angle the pole on the K4 a little lower. Here's a video I made a few years ago... feels super wobbly while you're sailing, but ithe footage was very stable (no stabilization was added)

That is a sick video Kevin.

Maybe the image stabilization on the camera's is much better. This is from my gopro max, with back mount
