Hi Gang!

The Bay Area has escaped the record-breaking heatwave due to a 600 miles in diameter near Cut-Off low just west of San Francisco that is pumping cool marine air our way.

But look at the headlines below and the fawn seeking refuge from the Pacific Northwest's worst heatwave since the 19th century. How did we get here?

Looking at the images in your blog it is difficult to determine what if any effect this has on Hawaii. Looks like we are either unaffected (we are not under the trough in the eastern Pacific, or maybe we are experiencing lighter than normal NE winds as a result. I would say that June is less windy than normal, by that I mean more unsailable (but fortunately foilable) days peppered with some days of normal winds.

Care to comment?
