I have to leave my glasses onshore in the spring and fall when the water and/or air are cold. The best solution I've found so far to fogging (and head protection) is leaving my prescription glasses on shore and wearing a helmet with a half-face eyeshield. If I really had to use prescription eyewear on the water, I'd do what you guys are doing ... buy prescription sunglasses (to fit under my helmet).

I'm getting my cataract replacement surgery this winter after too many decades outdoors. Who's next?

How do you keep your sunglasses from fogging up? I have tried anti-fogging solutions, raw potato and spit. Nothing has worked for me. I see less well with the glasses on than without them due to the fogging.

I would like to partake of the sun protection for my eyes, however.

I've been wearing prescription polarized sunglasses (from Costco and other vendors) for many years when sailing in the Gorge. For me, polarized lenses are the best, especially for Spring and Fall sailing when the sun is low on the horizon and glare is an issue. Other than loosing them (croakies don't always keep them on) I have been very happy and will always buy polarized lenses in the future. BUT I found recently that a scratch resistant cover installed over my new cell phone will not work with polarized glasses...can't see through it...an oddity but the only disadvantage that I've found in all the years that I've used them.

Try prescription Oakleys. You can get real prescription sunglass lenses from them, not the dipped kind that some optometrist's sell.
