Funny thing.....
I drove down 4 times before SOLO, there was wind, waves, the dude with a bucket of fish to sell, lots of dust at night, great sailing, and adventures with keeping even after 30 years.

It didn't hurt to be 35 years younger than we are today🤣, but I'm still game to go.

Hello,
Rumors I have been hearing on the beach are not very encouraging regarding Kevin Trejo running the camp in a very short term.
I plan to go down late June early July and am looking for a shared ride.

Thank you,

I'd be happy to caravan. Not into sharing a ride. Caravan is safer and more convenient.

Solo is basically abandoned and shut up. A number of campers are using Solo's area now for camping/kite launching/rigging area. Pretty much a free for all. Maybe KT will manage to restart, who knows.

All the camping fees are now being collected by the local ejido. $5 day/per person. They will take out trash etc.

If you are going down, there are a number of well behaved stray dogs from the abandoned rock picker camps. Flea collars make their life less miserable. Maybe pack some kibble.

Loopless’s description of the current situation at San Carlos is spot on. We camped at the Solo Sports campo for a week in April. Unreal having a world class spot basically to ourselves for a week. Sparky hung out with us all week. We had no kibble but he definitely liked bananas and scrambled eggs

Sparky was a great dog. These two (brother and sister) are pretty cute and smart too. Trying to find someone to adopt. Interesting how baja dogs know to sit just outside of being kicked range - that's been their life up until they encountered gringo windsurfers.

IMHO there is no chance of Solo Sports ( or anyone) restarting a commercial windsports camp in 2023 (or maybe ever) barring some kind of miracle. Meanwhile the local landowners are maintaining the existing structures ( which took a little bit of a beating in the last hurricane) plus collecting camping fees.

Jem Hall is hosting 2 weeks of clinic at PSC at the end of April 2023:

I would be curious to know in what state is the camp. When I was there in June 2022, it was pretty beat up.
