A number of years ago I bought a similar component that claimed to convert a Euro-pin connection to the 2-pin configuration. The first time I tried to use it, I found that it didn't work correctly, and as a result, it was something that was undependable and utterly useless.

Looking back, I think that it's best to have the right original products, even if it means having two different component systems. That said, I personally think that the Euro-pin configuration is the best overall design. It is far less subject to wear-and-tear and potential failure. I've found that the 2-pin design universal gets worn and wobbly with a years use, and I can't tell you how many 2-pin spring clips that have failed on me, potentially leaving you with a separated rig far offshore. Also, the pins wear the holes in the mast extension making it less dependable over the long term.

This one works perfectly and I do not see where it could fail.
As of personal preference, I actually hate Europin. Smile

thanks man

Chinook sells replacement parts for both systems. Would be about the same price to convert from one system to another.
