Can someone explain to me what happened with the classified ads on here? I heard that the Kite ads are no longer functioning, and I see that the windsurf sail ads at least, have tripled overnight, with lots of them seeming to be suspicious looking. Thanks

All crooks from iKite classified moved to iWindsurf classified. I will never buy anything from not local to me sellers (unless you know seller personally). You can easily figure out crooks: Just tell them you can pick up item and will pay cash at time to pick up.

OTOH, I've sold several masts, booms, sails, and more (except boards; too dang much hassle), all over the continent, on the iW classifieds. You just gotta use your head (and Google*) in choosing buyers, find an easy and secure way to pack stuff, and compare prices among shipping options.

* I try to find them on Google, by name and location, before getting too serious about buyers. It's often easy to find them, especially once you've exchanged such things as shipping address and maybe a career. The internet, of course, lists many ways to detect scams and scammers. Pay attention.

I will be selling scores of excellent (why else own them?) fins when I give this up, and expect many of them to go via the classifieds. Of course, the monetary risk there per item is pretty low, and I'm not going to sell any to the guy who wants to pay me ten times my asking price and have me refund the excess.

From iKite classified, all thieves transferred to iWindsurf classified. I will never make a purchase from a seller who is not in my area (unless you know seller personally). Simply inform them you may pick up the item and will pay cash when you pick it up to identify thieves.flagle
