I'm looking for replacement clips for my older NP carbon boom. 2 pins on each clip. I'm wondering if any newer/current booms would have clips that are compatible & available.

Critical dimensions:

Pin diameter: 6.35mm (1/4")
Pin spacing (center to center): 20mm
Boom tube diameter: 28mm

If you know of any that might work & where to get them let me know - thanks

Clips for Chinook are for 28mm tube. They could probably be made to fit if the slit for the pins is in the right place or can be altered to fit. Those clips are just a friction fit and tapped into place. Sand the tube if too tight to tap into place or put a dab of glue if a bit loose. The Chinook pins are composite (not metal) and for some people tend to chip off after a couple of years. I'm very careful aligning the holes when adjusting and keep the boom extended where it's at until a different sail size is needed, no problems for 3+ seasons.

Not sure how old NP clips come off. For Chinook I open large adjustable wrench to the size of the boom tube and place it adjacent to the old clip, and tap (or hammer firmly if necessary) the side of the adjustable wrench to remove the old clip. Works better than Chinook's recommendation to put a piece of wood parallel to the tube abutting against the clip and tap it off (although no doubt some come off easily this way). Mine were glued on and I used a heat gun and very firm hammering to get the old clips off. If you call Chinook they can tell you what the pin diameter is, all booms have 20mm pin spacing.
