Hi Gang,

There is a tidbit in my forecast tonight for the San Francisco Bay Area you might find interesting:

San Francisco forecast valid for Sat, Jun 18 2022
Issued Fri, Jun 17 19:00:00 by Meteorologist Mike Godsey - Next scheduled update: 7:00 PM

STRONG GUSTY NW winds curve in hitting most sites but producing a FADE for Pt. Isabel and probably Berkeley.

Note: A 2200-mile wind North Pacific High is beginning to awaken and realize it is mid-June not April so by the middle of next week it begins its departure from Bay Area waters to its normal average location due west of the Gorge. This means the Bay Area NW ocean winds drop to more seasonal levels and The Gorge stops having rainy April weather and begins to blow! (Sorry for the anthropomorphization... blame it all on La Niña)

Tomorrow the North Pacific High stretching from the Gulf of Alaska to Baja Norte to well past Hawaii stacks isobars along the California coast and the NW wind really jack up. The max pressure gradient is towards Stockton and towards Bakersfield so the strongest wind is on the coast and from Golden Gate to near Berkeley, Benicia to Sherman Island and the Peninsula. Strong NW winds at ≈1000 feet aloft (975MB level) hit the coast range and the resulting turbulence wind waves may randomly transfer momentum to the surface jazzing up the wind hitting your wing, kite or sail. This is especially true for Coyote and 3rd. Ave. and Palo Alto. These same winds make Pt. Isabel and Berkeley prone to a serious FADE about

Special Sites: Low to mid 20's Tubamancha, Dillon, Ocean Beach. Upper-teens to low 20's Rod & Gun, Benicia and Bullhead.
