Hello all
question:
I have been somewhat successful in doing areal / jump gybes however I have a problem. Every so often I end up hitting the clew of the boom on the board between the foot straps and the mast track. It is a weird spot to be having an impact. Where am I going wrong with the move to cause this issue ??

I would find it difficult to touch the clew of my boom onto the deck between my front strap and my mast track. It might touch near the rear straps on crashes, but nowhere near that close to the mast base.

If you are seeing impact marks between front strap and mast base, that's where your heel lands on jump jibes.
