I'd sure like to have a better solution for keeping my sunglasses clean while windsurfing. I've tried RainX and dishsoap, but after an hour or so (often with swimming involved) I get gunk and dried salt on my glasses.
Any tips appreciated.

Good question - I was hoping to see a favorable reply. I have pale eyes and cannot sail without sunglasses. Currently, I just come in and periodically wash them.

How about carrying a tiny bottle of dish soap when sailing and washing your glasses like seals wash their oysters?

Have you tried Aquapel? It's better at water runoff and far better in durability than Rain-X on windshields.

That's interesting. I did not know that seals carried a tiny bottle of dish soap to wash their oysters. Any particular brand? Very Happy

Haven't tried that but it doesn't look like it's available in convenient packaging for use on sunglasses.

Check out this useful glass water repellent site:

https://carglassguru.com/the-best-windshield-water-repellent/

If Aquapel sounds interesting, its 3-pack @ $18 would be the way to try it out. It still repels water on my windshields a year later for me, but I don't drive every day and I live in the desert.

UPDATE: Oops! Most glasses -- and my helmet face shield -- are plastic, not glass. I called The Invisible guys (see the link above), and they said their product won't work on plastic.

IIRC, I went with a nano-ceramic coating for my helmet face shield. It helped a bit, but not dramatically.

Have you tried Cat Crap? Great when snow skiing, might work for salt water as well
