Thought I had seen it all but there are several fresh takes here. thanks for posting. Can you explain the "bicycle seat" imagery?

Being on the foil is like riding a bike. When you turn on your bike you lean into the turn; with your body & head. But if you lean into the turn but your head is looking to the outside of the turn the bike is unstable.

Applying this analogy to the foiling jibe, if you start your turn but then look back to your hands when switching them on the wing during the jibe you will make the foil unstable; your head is looking to the outside of the turn.

In any board sport, Andy attributes foiling to riding a bike with air in the tires & windsurfing with a fin/kiting/SUP to riding a bike with no air in the tires. When riding with no air you constantly have to pedal. With air (foiling) you can pedal & then coast.

On my bike ride today I tried making a u turn while looking the other way. It felt tentative, miserable, and a little scary. Just like all my wing jibe attempts!

I attempted a U-turn while facing in the opposite direction during my bike ride today. It felt tentative, unpleasant, and a little frightened. Just like every wing jibe I've ever tried! basketball stars

In the foiling jibe, for example, your head should be directed toward the outside of the turn; if you glance back at your hands while switching them on the wing mid-jibe, you will cause the foil to become unstable.
