.synopsis...a 29.0 inch low over new england this evening will move 
northeast across the canadian maritimes through friday. a 29.4 inch 
low will then move from near lake superior late friday to lake huron 
by saturday afternoon while weakening to 29.7 inches. this low will 
continue to move east across southern quebec saturday night. another 
29.4 inch low will then move from near lake superior sunday night to 
central quebec monday night, with a strong arctic cold front 
crossing the lake late monday.

.synopsis...two main low pressure systems affect the great lakes
over the next few days. the first system moves in from central
canada early friday morning to near the west end of lake superior
at 29.50 inches by the afternoon. it dominates the weather across
the great lakes with a wide range of conditions. temperatures
moderate in the first phase of the system as a pattern of snow
moves across lake huron and lower mi into friday night. this is
followed by a brief period of high pressure and then the second
low pressure system that brings progressively colder conditions
highlighted by a surge of arctic air late sunday through early
next week.
