2 hours of 5.0 on the trailing ebb from 4:30 to 6:30.
and very nice it was.

Nice swells to play with and loads(?) of room.

Where the heck was everybody? Only 4 sailors max on the water at any one time....

was there something in the water that I didn't know about, keeping everybody else away? Or is it usually this quiet at this time of year?

Weird...there were more sailors at Waddell yesterday (another fun 5.0 day, small but use-able waves) than the entire Delta today...

was it really 30?

i was on a 5.0 and not overpowered. 30 anywhere else would have blown me off the water.

there's something about berkeley. the wind never feels strong there. i was on a 6.2 from 2 - 4:30 and it rarely felt like too much. why is that?

The parking lot at His Lordships always seems way windier than it actually is on the water.

Pre-iwindsurf knowledge was it's not sailable unless the seagulls can't perch on the roof of the restaurant.

Definetely some guys on 6 meter sails.
Lots of 5's.
Me on 4.5 and 66 liter board, OP and a few jumps, 95% jibes, but I did step clear off the side twice.
Buddette on 3.7 and 8'2 Cascade glass board, for 3 hours.
I wonder what the jibe % was for the guys with the +5 sails.
I think I missed 4 out of over 70.

The Berkeley wind meter reads between 2 and 5 mph high, depending on the direction.

That's why it feels weak. Because the sensor isn't accurate. Could be precise, but it's definitely not accurate.

In reality, I bet it was the same wind TI got that day. I was on 4.2 but it was nothing crazy or OP'd.[/img]

Word. And then after you rig for the lull reading on the meter and get about 100 yards out, the wind shuts down completely. Sweet.
