|

Hi Gang,
We have a new sensor on West Marin Island between Rod & Gun and Brickyards. The sensor is on a Coast Guard Aid to Navigation so it has clean wind. It should read a bit stronger wind than at the launch sites.
See image below.
There are also a couple of our Tempest Weather stations in the area which may help if you know how to use them.

Thanks Mike. We made good use of the new sensor yesterday. 4 sailors despite low tide on 4.0-4.7 while reading averaging 25mph.

Out of curiosity what's the difference between the green and yellow sensors ? As far as I can tell all provide the same kind of data on the app, no ?

Hi Nicolas,
Good question! The yellow sensors are our professional grade that are carefully sited by our meteorologists and our sensor teams so they detect winds at or near launch sites.
The green sensors are our consumer-grade sensors that are purchased and sited by consumers. They are very accurate but often times someone's backyard or roof is not representative of the wind at a nearby launch site.
But they are very useful in seeing the overall wind pattern.

Mike, thank you!
The new sensor was very useful yesterday. 4 sailors braved low tides on 4.0-4.7, while the average speed was 25mph. geometry dash
