I am new to kite surfing. Is there an open area on land to work on kite skills near Portland or Vancouver. I would like to launch and land and just work on kite control.
Also wondering how to get to kiters forum.
Crazy wind right now at Rooster Rock. I've got a duotone 9 meter kite. I had a great time in Corpus with steady winds and beautiful open beach to work on kite flying. I may get some replies saying DO NOT practice out of the water. Any comments appreciated. I will be careful. Thanks! |

That sounds so funny. When I began to get on my Mom's nerves, she'd say, "Oh go play on the train tracks."
I've always been told to become an expert at flying a kite on land with my eyes closed before getting near the water with them. |

Strong winds are really a challenge for beginners like me.
