I can't even comprehend Boujmaa's level of spatial awareness -- where he is in at least ten degrees of freedom: x, y, z, pitch, roll, yaw, time, wave shape, and his and his gear's orientation WRT his environment. He's not just throwing himself into a canned stunt; he's getting up there, then deciding what he wants to do with that particular flight, then doing it, then finishing it upright, and then landing it under control. He's sailing the water, the waves, both the ambient and apparent winds, and time itself. Ii watch very few videos and zero live events -- largely because I get tired of watching the same canned loop endlessly -- but I've never seen that degree of controlled spontaneity anywhere else. |
