Republicans preparing to join the 'cover-up club' before the Jan 6th committee subpoenas them: former prosecutor
Quote: |
As part of his "Justice Matters" YouTube series, former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner suggested Republican lawmakers who face possible subpoenas from the House select committee investigating the Jan 6th insurrection will likely become the latest members of the "cover-up- club" dedicated to shielding Donald Trump.
With the Capitol riot hearings coming in June, Kirschner noted that leaked texts to and from former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows are more than enough reason to call for Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Jim Jordan (R-OH_ and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), among others, before the committee.
That, he suggested, would likely involve subpoenas as he hinted they are probably getting their stories straight in case they should be compelled to show up.

The problem, he worried, is if they will likely fall in line with members of Trump's inner circle -- including Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino -- and refuse to comply.
"They're not going to cooperate," he predicted. "They are all preparing to become members of the cover-up club together with the likes of Bannon, Navarro, Scavino and others."
"So this now raises the same litany of questions we ask every time," he continued. "People with information about Donald Trump's crimes refuse to provide it to the J6 committee. One: when all of those Republicans refuse to comply with these voluntary requests for testimony, will the House committee subpoena them? Two: when they blow off these subpoenas, when they violate them when they ignore them, will Congress vote them in contempt and refer them to the Department of Justice for prosecution?"
He added the Democratic-led House is also at the mercy of the DOJ aftrer voting for a criminal referral.

and we have this one the russian trump support network... why isn't the media asking for people to sign and inform them of the issue... where is that liberal media when ya need one..
Quote: |
Trump-supporting cable network One American News (OAN) has officially become a mouthpiece for Russian propaganda, echoing wild conspiracy theories about Ukraine and working with pro-Russian eccentrics to create evidence where none exists. But we can stop OAN's spread of lies and misinformation.
Sign the petition: Tell Verizon to drop OAN.
SIGN THE PETITION
For a network to be called news, there should be factual standards it must meet. OAN meets none of those standards. The network is out of control and no longer operating with anything remotely resembling journalistic integrity if any existed in the first place.
DirecTV, OAN's biggest contractor, has finally recognized that viewers have had enough and is dropping the network when their contract is up in April. Now Verizon will be the only provider to carry OAN and it is time for them to do the same.
This is our chance to get rid of OAN for good. Sign the petition: Tell Verizon to drop OAN. There is no place for Russian propaganda and Trumpian misinformation. |

time to be tough on crime, for this crime it needs to be punishable by 30-50% of your net worth.
And penalties like this should be imposed for all white collar crimes. This way we will get the rich to stop committing crimes because of a normal fine is nothing to them. for all all profits from illegal activities are taken and 30-50% of all remaining net worth for crimes for over $100k. And if colluding with someone that has significantly more than you; you pay based on the money they have.

Former Trump Adviser Charged With Contempt for Defying Jan. 6 Subpoena
Quote: | Peter Navarro, a White House adviser to former President Donald J. Trump who defied a subpoena to provide information to the special House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, was charged on Friday with contempt of Congress.
Prosecutors say that Mr. Navarro, 72, was issued a subpoena by the House committee on Feb. 9, but failed to appear for a deposition or provide documents to congressional investigators. The indictment charges him with two counts of contempt that each carry a maximum sentence of a year in prison, as well as a fine of up to $100,000.
He did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A former White House trade adviser who undertook extensive efforts to keep Mr. Trump in power after the 2020 election, Mr. Navarro is the second high-ranking former presidential aide to be charged with contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the House committee. In November, Stephen K. Bannon, a former top aide to Mr. Trump, was indicted on similar charges.
The indictment against Mr. Navarro came nearly two months after the House voted on mostly party lines to recommend criminal charges against him. Lawmakers decided in the same vote to recommend a contempt indictment against another of Mr. Trump’s top aides, Dan Scavino Jr.
The House has also recommended that Mark Meadows, the former White House chief of staff, be charged with contempt. But the Justice Department has yet to take action on the criminal referrals against Mr. Meadows or Mr. Scavino. |

meadows lied in his book, he claimed trump was not intending to go down to the capital... yet we know now because under oath a person has said the opposite.
and we know trump is paying the legal fees of many of the whitehouse employees with the stop the steal money that he received. About USD$250,000,000.00 is what he has received.

Quote: | Two sources from the Secret Service anonymously backed up much of Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony.
Speaking to CNN, the sources said the incident was discussed within the agency.
Neither of them said they heard about Trump trying to grab the steering wheel.
Two Secret Service sources told CNN on Friday that they heard about former President Donald Trump lunging at the driver of his presidential SUV on January 6, 2021.
The pair of sources, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, backed up much of former Trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson's explosive testimony on the altercation in the motorcade vehicle known as "the Beast" after Trump found out he wouldn't be driven to join his supporters at the Capitol.
"He had sort of lunged forward – it was unclear from the conversations I had that he actually made physical contact, but he might have. I don't know," one of the Secret Service sources told CNN. "Nobody said Trump assaulted him; they said he tried to lunge over the seat – for what reason, nobody had any idea." |

Judge tells Lindsey Graham he must testify in grand jury probe
Quote: | Lindsey Graham said he had no intention of honoring a subpoena from a special grand jury in Georgia. A judge has now told him he doesn't have a choice.
July 12, 2022, 6:00 AM MDT
By Steve Benen
Last week, a special grand jury hearing evidence in an investigation into possible 2020 election interference in Georgia issued subpoenas to several people close to Donald Trump — including Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham. Almost immediately thereafter, the South Carolinian’s lawyers said Graham didn’t intend to honor the subpoena, dismissing the local investigation as “all politics.”
Yesterday, as Reuters reported, a judge took the next obvious step and told Graham he has no choice but to testify.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ordered that Graham will be required to testify on Aug. 2. The judge’s certification filed on Monday described Graham as a “necessary and material witness” to the grand jury probe. The development was reported earlier by WSB-TV. |

seems the Secret Service fits this group, gee one text was turned over to the jan 6 committee. wow... and as of today heard that the SS agents are retaining lawyers of course paid for by the trump money.
If you did nothing wrong you do not delete messages that are by law to be kept. Ignorance of the law in an enforcement agency to me is a immediate firing offence.
with the request and law being clear they should be fired and charged if they will not testify with candor.

say it ain't so, trump harped about Hillaries emails when she was ONLY to turn over government emails... wasn't that his entire campaign....
and here we go again, we know trump and family early on used a trump corp server. We know that tump was chewing up notes and ripping others up and throwing them in the garbage to try to destroy them illegally.
and we know the entire secret service was ordered by law to preserve their phone records by subpoena, and gee after a few years they could only find one ... , and now we have even more illegal acts of disappearing messages by top officials.

DHS missing J6 texts from Trump officials Chad Wolf and Ken Cuccinelli: report
Quote: | The scandal over missing Jan. 6 text messages has expanded from the Secret Service to the top of the Department of Homeland Security, according to a bombshell new report published online by The Washington Post on Thursday evening.
"Text messages for former President Donald Trump’s acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf and acting deputy secretary Ken Cuccinelli are missing for a key period leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, according to four people briefed on the matter and internal emails. This discovery of missing records for the senior-most homeland security officials, which has not been previously reported, increases the volume of potential evidence that has vanished regarding the time around the Capitol attack," Carol Leonnig and Maria Sacchetti reported. |

Then there is Wolf.
Quote: | The nine-month acting secretary told senators he was unaware that his wife’s consulting firm was given more than $6 million in DHS contracts since he was chief of staff to then-Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
“There's a new story about some contract that DHS awarded to my wife's firm. I guess it was in 2018. I just found out about it last night when the media inquiry came in,” Wolf said. “Whether I was chief of staff, whether I was the acting secretary, the undersecretary, or any other position of the department, I have no role in procurements. I don't even see procurements until they are released — until they're in the news and on the street. If I was involved in procurements, which I am not, I have recusals in place that not only include her firm, but also clients that I had before arriving at the department. So, again, fabricated story.” |
It’s all about the grift. |
