A few years back someone was advertising a quick release spreader bar hook -- not the spreader bar, the hook -- which would release under high loads, like a ski binding, to prevent getting launched/slammed.

After a viscious slam into my mast and boom yesterday and resulting cracked ribs and back pain, Im wondering if any such product is still on the market. Thanks for any leads. Andy

It was called a Toucan and I believe it came from Florida. Never heard any feedback and havent heard about it for awhile.
