waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis... a 29.9 inch low has moved east of lake ontario 
toward the hudson river. following its passage...a trough 
averaging 30.2 inches will linger across the eastern great lakes 
through wednesday as the low tracks northeast across new england. 
a 30.2 inch high will then build southeast over the lakes 
wednesday night into friday. a 30.3 inch high will move southeast 
from the hudson bay on saturday while a 29.4 inch low will be 
located off the mid-atlantic coast.
