...the flood advisory is cancelled for the following river in
southwest lower michigan...
muskegon river near croton affecting newaygo county
.the current weather is dominated by high pressure. dry conditions
will stick around through at least early thursday. moisture will
begin to stream in by thursday afternoon and friday with
precipitation amounts generally around a half inch or less. the
extended outlook supports wet weather for the first part of next week
along with much cooler than normal temperatures. the following
forecast is based on observed and forecast 24 hour precipitation.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
safety message...caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
a flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull. if you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding... or the possibility of the advisory
being upgraded to a warning. report observed flooding to local

its banks and minor flooding begins in low lying areas along the
river.

* bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
* flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* forecast...the river will continue to fall.
* impact...at 10.5 feet...flood waters begin to surround homes
upstream of evart in the jeffery subdivision along linden and
riverside roads. portions of linden and riverside roads in the
jeffery subdivision begin to go underwater. high water also begins
to cover trout drive in the doc and tom subdivision located just
east of m66 off of 9 mile road.

...the national weather service in marquette has issued a flood
advisory for the sturgeon river...
sturgeon river near chassell affecting houghton county
.warmer weather early this week allowed snowmelt runoff into the
sturgeon river basin. this has caused the sturgeon river near
chassell to rise to around bankfull. expect the river to remain near
bankfull today into tonight...and perhaps slowly subside on thursday
due to cooler temperatures.

...the national weather service in marquette is continuing the flood
advisory for the paint river at crystal falls in iron county...
.warmer temperatures over the past few days have led to increased
runoff across the paint river basin. although 1 to 2 inches of snow
water equivalent still remain in the basin...colder conditions over
the next few days will slow the runoff into the river basin. no
precipitation is expected for the next 18 to 24 hours.
