waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights...which
is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves...along
with the average height of the highest 10 percent of the waves
which will occasionally be encountered.
.synopsis...weak high pressure ridging of 30.1 inches over the
southeastern states will remain largely stationary into the
weekend. low pressure of 29.8 inches over western north dakota
will move northeast to near hudson bay by friday morning...then
continue east into quebec by saturday morning deepening slightly
to 29.6 inches. a cold front trailing this low will move south
across the lake friday night as unseasonably strong high pressure
of 30.5 builds south into the northern plains in the wake of this
front friday night into saturday. the high will eventually move
east into the northern lakes region sunday.
