waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.
.synopsis...moderate northerly flow of cooler air will maintain
elevated waves today before high pressure arrives tonight. improved
wind and wave conditions will then persist through thursday. the
next cold front is due across lake huron and lower michigan thursday
night into friday. this front will bring the next chance of rain and
appears to be of similar strength as today in terms of wind and
cooler air.

which will occasionally be encountered.
.synopsis...a cold front has pushed south of the lake as high
pressure of 30.3 inches builds over the northern plains and upper
mississippi valley. the high will spread across the great lakes
region today and wednesday. the high will settle into the eastern
great lakes through the lower ohio valley thursday while a trough
of low pressure averaging 29.8 inches and an associated cold front
will push down the lake thursday night. high pressure of 30.3
inches will build over the lake friday night and saturday.

.synopsis...a 30.2 inch high pressure ridge extending from minnesota
to james bay will slide southeast to the lower great lakes and
eastern ontario late on wednesday ahead of a 29.7 inch low pressure
moving into far northern ontario. expect this low to move into quebec
and drag a low pressure trough averaging 29.9 inches across the upper
great lakes on thursday. a trailing 30.3 inch high pressure over
south central canada will then drift southeast through minnesota on
friday and into the western great lakes on saturday while weakening
to 30.2 inches.
