...only light wintry precipitation expected...
.while some wintry precipitation will still occur today through
this evening...this now looks to be light and is not expected to
have much impact on the area. as colder air moves in today...a
change over to light snow is still expected to occur but
accumulations should be an inch or less.

the national weather service in la crosse has cancelled the
winter weather advisory.
the light rain and drizzle will change over to light snow today as
colder air moves in. this light snow will then continue into this
evening but accumulations are expected to be an inch or less and
should little impact on the area.

* locations...northwest wisconsin including the saint croix river
valley...the hayward lakes region and the gogebic range.
* timing..light snow off and on with drizzle possible between the
snow through tonight.
* snow accumulations...1 to 3 inches.
* visibilities...a half mile or less at times.
* impacts...snow and freezing drizzle will result in slick
conditions. untreated roads and bridges may freeze tonight as
temperatures fall causing slippery conditions.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a winter weather advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
